AUSTIN, Texas (CBSDFW.COM) – Texas Gov. Greg Abbott on Wednesday afternoon discussed details on the state building its own wall along the southern border.
The governor made the announcement last week during a summit about border security with law enforcement officials.
“Texas is stepping up… and doing more than any other state has done to respond to these challenges along the border. [Texas lawmakers] just passed a budget adding more than a billion dollars to border security for Texas to do the federal government’s job,” Abbott said.
Then, you get to see how serious Texans can be when it comes to Texas land. I bet the feds will have little to say. If the fed thinks they are going to take that land back from Texas, they will have to cross some 500 miles of unfriendly territory full of gun-toting Texans to do it.
Small Steps.
We will see how serious they are. Doesn’t seem Texas will ever be serious about going it alone. At least leadership is not there. And if Texas doesn’t bow out of the republic there really is no place for conservatives to thrive. Democrats got control over the election system, so I guess its all downhill from here?
That’s what it sounds like to me. Forgive me but I’m an onlooker but great fan of Trump - here from Canada. What seemed to occur in the USA to me in 2020 (and 2021 runoffs in Georgia) is the Democrat Party took firm control of the election system. Maybe I’m a dour individual but it seems that’s end of story for the USA. (Canada was finished long ago). The only relief valve would be conservative states running their own confederacy. But it seems Texas leadership is all bark and no bite.
If Abbott could organize and manage an effort to get most of the Texas border wall finished, he would not have any concern with re-election. At the same time, a one year push getting it done would also show what real Americans can do. Would be a serious nail in the Commie-Rat coffin at the same time.
But, it needs to be a We Build The Wall on steroids, fast and effective. Would like for Abbott to prove me wrong, but I don’t see him up to this task.

hey BeauBo, what’s your take on Gov Abbott’s proposal to build the wall?
how much remains open in Texas?
how far down the border would $1bb get him?
I don't think your paying close enough attention. Texas took back their gold reserves several years ago, and they now reside in Texas. Democrats aren't going to have control over the election system for very long. Keep watching.
Actually they do, because it won’t be their spine on the line.
You know, wars always seem easy up front.
They’re not.
Look, I’d love to see Texas prevail, but I think the Left has
too much on the line to be one-upped easily.
We’ll see.
I think it should span the whole border, maybe with an opening to Oklahoma.
I could swear that I’ve read some US law (or something similar) that was made to prevent the Federal govt. from taking any state land.
Wish I could remember the name of it... I am sure someone else here will know what I am talking about.
We are sending some of Florida’s bravest law and order officers to Texas!
Abbott is stone serious,
He’s really doing this!
I personally think the Rangers would be a perfect replacement for the FIBbers.
Even the baseball team would be an improvement.....not that they're very good at baseball, mind you.
Better to wait for forgiveness than permission.

Good to hear the Wall will be built, come h3ll or high water...
No one would ever hear that story, well not no one but few people would know or care, mostly Freepers and their ilk.
Bingo! We have enough Constitutionalist Freepers that always tell us why we can't do something, while the other side ignores the Constitution and we scream they can't do that, as they continue on and do that.
