NEW YORK (AP) — A new analysis of blood samples from 24,000 Americans taken early last year is the latest and largest study to suggest that the new coronavirus popped up in the U.S. in December 2019 — weeks before cases were first recognized by health officials.
The analysis is not definitive, and some experts remain skeptical, but federal health officials are increasingly accepting a timeline in which small numbers of COVID-19 infections may have occurred in the U.S. before the world ever became aware of a dangerous new virus erupting in China......
The NIH researchers have not followed up with study participants yet to see if any had traveled out of the U.S. prior to their infection. But they found it noteworthy that the nine did not live in or near New York City or Seattle, where the first wave of U.S. cases were concentrated.
“The question is how did, and where did, the virus take seed,” Althoff said. The new study indicates “it probably seeded in multiple places in our country,” she added.

Friend came back from visiting Hong Kong and China Dec 2019 and was sick for a couple of weeks.
I was sick for a few days in January 2020. (not because Xiden stole the Election). Even had a slight fever for one day.
I think it may have been the Kung Flu because I rarely get sick.
We're all convinced it was covid, but our Drs. say couldn't be ... they hadn't heard of it at that time.
Back in the spring of 2020....the Barcelona sewage plant went to weekly samples they collect from the water treatment center. Oddly enough, they had a sample from March 2019 with Covid-19 identified.
This caught my eye because I was actually in Barcelona at the end of March 2019. Lot of Chinese tourists? Oh yeah. I suspect that at the beginning of the Chinese New Year (5 Feb 2019)...something accidental happened in the lab...maybe some clean-up technician did something stupid, and the virus got out.
Same. I got sick on the way back from Israel October of 2019. My mom got it in November 2019 and almost died. She had it, again, last Christmas but lesser symptoms.
Why would anyone believe anything anyone says about the CCP Virus? I was teaching in a NYC high school in December 2019. That virus ran through our school, putting two students who were asthmatics, in the CCU. No one could tell them what they had, as they both tested negative for the flu multiple times. Many other students got sick, pre Christmas, as well. I got sick, running a fever for a full week, amongst other symptoms, from 12/27 until 1/4. I also tested negative for the flu multiple times. And I was not alone.
Do you remember news reports in early Autumn 2019 of a “pneumonia” going around? I do. Just wish I could find the links. I bet they’re scrubbed.
My father was in the hospital for what they treated as pneumonia about 2 or 3 months before we heard of covid. He was not doing well and was afraid I was going to lose him. He survived. Fast forward to a few months ago and he got a food poisoning and was back in the hospital. He couldn’t keep anything down for days. Ambulance came and got him. They swabbed him for covid and was negative but in the antibody he showed positive for the antibodies. Doctors looked at his chart from the year before and told him he had covid when he was in the year before. It did not surprise the doctors he had it before we started hearing about it.
Covid was here prior to October 2019.
Interesting that they are admitting that it was here in December now.
Same just north of Atlanta. Tons of nasty flu like coughs... docs all said don’t need to test it’s flu. If they did test and got a negative they’d say false negative.
It was here in November 2019.
My daughter was sick for nearly a month in January of 2020. She is convinced she had COVID.
Yep, we had it back in December 2019. SE Florida.
I was very sick for about a week in December of 2019. Didn’t lose taste or smell, but had something awful that came out of the blue and gave me fever, chills and fatigue for about a week.
But my doctor said he can’t order blood tests to see if I had covid.
I was sick over Chrismas vacation 2019 with a rough cough, slight fever, and malaise, along with a bunch of other people in our little Alaskan village. I had not been sick for years previously. It was unlike any other illness I’ve had. I have always wondered what it was, but it was unusual enough for me to remember and talk about.
It’s very easy to confirm. It only costs $10.00 to be sure.

It was here in October 2019. Two women in our church were sick, then a couple more in November...the flu, a bad one. Even the MD’s called it,”This years flu.”
I think m son and daughter-in-law had it. They were sick, at times severely, from right before Christmas until early February. They both tested negative for the flu.
At the time, they were traveling all over the country, taking long flights, spending hours in airports, hotels, etc.
I know I was sick as a dog February 2020 and my ENT said take dayquil and nyquil.
