If you watch the live coverage, they kept going over and over about how “Right Wingers” attacked Adlai Stevenson in Dallas a few weeks before the assassination, as if that was proof it just had to be the work of right-wingers.
True that; and that “attack” amounted to a woman with a sign being bumped in the back, cause a protest sign to bonk Stevenson.
A topic close to my heart. When I was a teenager, my family vacationed at a terrific ranch in Colorado, founded and owned by two sophisticated New Yorkers, Katie and Dick Schoenberger. They knew everyone in NYC, Eisenhower was vacationing at a nearby ranch so they invited him and the White House Press Corps to a cookout. Secret Service said too dangerous for prez, but the entire Press Corps came.
Stanley Tretick, UP photographer, was amazed at my political acumen at 17, invited me to be his assistant at Dem Nat’l Convention in Chicago the next summer. Parents said yes. My job was to get names of people he photographed and to buy the biggest bottle of bought syrup I could find, dump it out and fill it with Scotch. Photogs would come up to me and cough and I’d hand them the bottle. Stanley was Jackie Kennedy’s favorite photographer. She invited him to Hyannisport, and their home in Palm beach to take pictures of her and the kids and their home life.
JFK’s name was put into nomination. I stood in the aisle next to a young man when JFK’s name was put into nomination. I asked my “friend,” Do you think he’ll get it?” “Not this time, but next time,” Bobby Kennedy said. And he was right.
Years later, I was a paid emploiyee of the RNC in Michigan. The state finance chairman asked me to lunch one day.I know he was going to offer me a job in HQ because I was good at raising money. As we sat there, the news came on saying JFK had been shot. We were appalled and went home to our respective families. We wanted to beat him politicvally, but didn’t want him dead.
I seriously doubt that Bobby wanted John dead. Marilyn? Maybe or even probably.
Today, I follow Robert F. Kennedy Jr’s web site “Children’s Health Defense.” Smartest site online telling the truth about Fauxi, Gates, vaccinations, and natural cures for essentially “the flu.”
“But I have long thought that he looks like he is marched right into Jack Ruby by the Texas cops for execution.”
Yes, I saw that happen on live TV. I was just a little child. But it was quite noticable, even by me (because I’ve never purposefully watched it again, although I may have seen it again) that the two cops stepped aside, rather than making any motion to protect Oswald.
I don’t think I thought much of that at the exact moment (because what I was really thinking was something along the lines of “television is never going to be normal again, is it?”) but it never left my mind.
Next they will re-open the Garfield case.
I remember reading that someone took a shot at Major General Edwin Walker about this time.
From what I read, one of Oswald’s commie buddies asked him...”Did you miss?”
General Edwin Walker was a thorn in the Kennedy’s side about this time.
Yep. Very suspicious death.
And so many reporters, whistleblowers, etc. have met their demise because they talked too much before it was time for the big reveal.
If that’s supposed to be funny, I’d call it a swing and a miss.
Some do know. Just saying. But it doesn’t even matter anymore.
1976 House Select Committee on Assassinations.
Read it, then yap.
“Next they will re-open the Garfield case.”
Not even that would crack the ‘safe’ that is your mind.
It is undeniable that whoever did it knows (or knew) they did it.
Once a year, they dig up JFK.
Funny how they never talk about when Reagan was shot.
I remember exactly where I was when I heard it on the radio.
Ditto
Well they did lead to the Warren Commission Report. </s>
Then you need to explain the bullet hole near the mirror in the windshield
In one of Alistair Cooke’s Letters from America he mentions Richard Pavlik’s attempt to blow JFK to bits in December, 1960 - no conspiracy, just a nutbar with a few sticks of dynamite.
