A little long range precision shooting will slow that business down.

Urban and border applications as well.

I grew up around cattle-mostly dairy but you know..

Anyway, got a snowbird from NE Missouri here and he and I laugh at this “rancher” here in NW AZ. 2700 acres and can run only 100 head. Thats 27 acres per head! And that isnt enough. Right now, there isnt ANY forage left except for the mesquite that is dotted far and wide.
We tried explaining to him that maybe he ought to put up a yard of about 40 acres-which he has, and set it up to feed when the grazing isnt good, like right now. Nope, cant do that. That costs money. So his cattle are now getting outside of his lease land-BLM, and he is in trouble from the ag people for not checking his fences and keeping them watered well enough.
We explained to him that even IF he bought two 500 pound bails of hay once a week and put them out for them he would gain that back in weight. Nope, cant do that either.
The latest word is-last couple weeks ago that is, that he had a couple of his steers shot someplace in the valley since he hasnt been keeping up with his fencing and the cows are getting out and running wild all around the valley browsing peoples shrubs in their yards. I have watched those cattle brows off from grease brush! I could not believe my eyes! There has been a few orchard farmers who have moved here from CA since they have quit out there because of the commies cutting off their irrigation. Anyways, the cattle are knocking down the fencing round the orchards and browsing off the fruit trees and I tell you, there is big trouble here over that.

All the clown has to do is set up a small feed lot, like I mentioned and feed those critters in lean times. Or dump out some hay at the water tanks once a week.

He will lose his lease and should.

This works both ways.

If there is an organization behind the guys who steal your cows; YOU might be the next ones to suffer some kind of damage.

The problem with disappearing cows is still more likely to involve unsavory individuals stealing a small number to eat themselves and not sell.

Then there are...

Are coyotes on our southern border reverse rustlers?

The COWBIRD model definitely applies!

“I am guessing ‘Blazing Saddles’.”

I agree but that’s knowing the movie without understanding the bit about Randolph Scott where the mention of his name caused them to rise and remove their hat. Scott held a special place in the Western serials and, later, full-length Western films. Many thought he was the better actor and character than Roy and Tex because their persona was built around their singing. If you can find a copy of The Statler Brothers singing “Whatever Happened to Randolph Scott”, I think you’ll get the reference better.

“Whatever Happened to Randolph Scott” may have been the title, but I feel the inference was...
