Former Virginia Gov. Terry McAuliffe (D) is ahead of Glenn Youngkin (R) by four points in Virginia’s gubernatorial race taking place in November, according to a poll released Sunday.
JMC Analytics conducted the poll June 9–12, making it the first public poll to occur since both candidates secured their nominations; McAuliffe won the Democrat primary June 8, while Youngkin clinched his nomination more than a month ago. The two are now competing to replace outgoing Gov. Ralph Northam (D), who is term-limited and cannot seek reelection.
While McAuliffe in the poll has 46 percent support to Youngkin’s 42 percent, the margin of error is 4.2 percent, which places the candidates in a statistical tie. Twelve percent remain undecided.
The poll is certain to encourage Republicans, who have struggled for representation in the Old Dominion in recent years. The party has not won a statewide race since 2009, and it suffered a stunning loss of its majority in both chambers of the state legislature in 2019. President Joe Biden also carried Virginia by about ten points in 2020.

Positioning for 2024...
I live in Virginia. It is irretrievably gone. Maybe there will be some freak event that will cause Youngkin to win like some of the other blue state GOP governors but not likely. Too many third worlders and white lunatics from MD & DC who moved here for the taxes and low crime and promptly did what leftists do.
Mostly it is voter fraud in NoVa.
Vote fraud.
Easy steal for the Demonicrat fraudsters.
And, it’s gone.
McAuliffe is such a sleazeball. Since he’s a known Clinton ally, I wish there was a way to link him to Epstein. If that link existed, it would be game over. Sadly my commonwealth has become a blue hell.
Terry McAuliffe?
How stoopid are the folks in Virginia?
We shouldn’t do polls at all, but I do find it interesting that the Washington Compost did a poll and then buried it. It can’t be found unless you really search for it.

VA. -————forget about it, too many commie government workers.
Oops on closer look that’s not a Washington Compost poll. The Twatter tard that posted it confused WPA with Washington Compost.
In New Jersey a Republican needs 57% of the legitimate votes casts to overcome systemic fraud. Suspect that after 10 years of Democratic rule in Virginia, the fraud is endemic. That poll means nothing.
Disagree that it’s fraud, at least in Northern Virginia. There is no unsolicited mail balloting and in-person voting requires an ID. There are just lots of commies/govt workers/freaks and nuts here.
Two words: dominion machines.
How stupid? If I dropped you in the middle of any NoVa residential neighborhood the only question is how many BLM or other virtue signaling yard signs you could hit with a rock. It’s disgusting.
“How stoopid are the folks in Virginia?”
It is my opinion that the majority of people in this lost country who vote do so as if they were cheering for their favorite football team. No matter how terrible their team or candidate is, they’re voting for them no matter what.
Not voting anyway so I guess I can’t rightly bitch.
I agree... I live in the Hampton Roads area, and even "conservative" locales like Virginia Beach and Chesapeake went heavily for Biden in 2020. This state has take the most rapid, hard turn to the left of any I've ever seen. Youngkin might make a difference in a few of the House of Delegate races and maybe a Senate race or two, but to think the democrats are going to lose a statewide race here is folly.
In all reality, that's not so much the case as a fundamental turn to the left in this state.
Georege W. Bush lost the state for Republicans.
