That might be good. Mexicans might go back home...
Are you in Clay or Duval County?
Here, across the board regular bbq sandwiches are $9 and large sandwich $12. Small sides are $1 to $3 each depending on restaurant.
Time to pull the brisket out of the freezer and fire up the grill.
Mom used to talk about flour pudding. Flour and water a little bit of nutmeg and make a pudding out of it with some kind of sugar...maple or white, whatever could be had.
We will be using a lot of potatoes this year.
That’s $400 right now.
I saw a sign the other day that says it all. The sign said BIDEN SUCKS,
Gas is real cheap, too. A pre-1965 silver quarter will still get you more than a gallon of gas at melt value.
Just checked the little podunk cafe down the road and their prices have gone up as much as 50% (fish night) for their various nightly specials. They have low overhead so prices are still reasonable (<$14) if one enjoys eating out. I don’t.
It’s what happens when the government prints fiat money irresponsibly. Time to pay for all that “free” government money. Maybe someday some doctoral candidate will write his thesis in economics on how much each of us paid in real dollars for the stimulus checks.
Freeze Drying, although we do vacuum seal things that aren’t going to last more than a year or two and can’t really be freeze dried. Chocolate, raw beans, grains, etc. Also I vacuum seal things we buy in bulk in smaller portions: Salt, tea, coffee, etc. Also you need a vacuum sealer to keep your oxygen absorbents fresh when you don’t use a whole bag of ten.
We have completely eliminated sugary snacks by switching to freeze dried strawberries, bananas and kiwi. Just eat them out of the bag without trying to reconstitute them. The flavor is intense.
Looks like mayonnaise and sugar sandwiches are back on the menu, boys!
Over the years, a small can of tuna has gone from 7.5 oz down to 5 oz and 50% of that is water. That may not seem a big difference but you’ll need 3 cans if your older recipe calls for 2.
“... have you seen the cost of a Chunky lately?”
“Chunky ... what a chunk of chocolate!”
Thanks so much for sharing your experiences.
Mustard. Lots of mustard sandwiches. I got plenty of them for my lunch after we done run out of venison.
That or SPAM! God Lord if I gotta eat that crap again I will commit slippery slide.
You could make rice pudding, too.
If you all are interested. Just talked to one of my neighbors who is originally from MO and moved out and farmed in CA-on the Sac delta. Said that the sweet corn farmers cant get any help and they will/might sell PALLETS of sweet corn. Its ready to go and they CAN NOT get help to pack the corn. Its all produce corn for the grocery market and the stores aint buying it.
Better get it while it ready though.
WTH is going on?
Hawaiians eat that crap on purpose.
Right. Went to Jersey Mike’s. Two subs two drinks $22. Last month same deal 17.
