35 years ago an elderly man snapped one day and went to our nearest Winn Dixie and started shooting......killing and injuring many
He went across the street to Publix but they were able to lock and secure the door......allowing customers to take cover
He went to prison, waiting for execution but I believe in died in jail of natural causes
We’ve since moved but the town was small and those two stores were on a main thoroughfare through the center of it........
My children and I had just crossed through ( after getting them from school)and almost stopped at the Publix but I changed my mind at the last second
So many close calls in life... Thank goodness you decided not to stop there that day.
