This was a gotcha question and McConnell in typical Mitch fashion deftly tried to dodge it. Even then, they take a pull from his answer to make a headline.

What did McConnell say that Trump and he would not agree about? Everyone in politics has an agenda. Everyone.

Far be it from me to defend Mitch, but this is the predictable game the media plays. I could interview just about anyone and bait them like this where my question frames any answer they give and my headline and pull quote can say whatever I want.

McConnell is doing his job. Look at the judges...and he got us through two impeachments. And while I might disagree with some of his "stuff", he's done a damn good job.

President Trump is doing what he thinks is best. They are not in conflicting roles.
