America is considered the land of opportunity, a vast, attractive country for people longing to press life’s reset button.
Each year, hundreds of thousands of people arrive in the country to start anew, many of them without proper identification or documentation.
Colorado is trying to be more welcoming to those undocumented residents.
In the past few months, the Western state has passed a series of laws aimed at supporting and protecting undocumented people after the pandemic revealed wide disparities and exacerbated inequalities in Colorado and elsewhere.
Gov. Jared Polis has signed into law measures aimed at expanding access to housing, jobs and state benefits to undocumented immigrants. Supporters say the laws will make the state a more equitable place. Opponents argue the measures will siphon money and services from other residents.
“We can’t just sit around waiting to the federal government to fix our broken immigration system," Polis said at a signing ceremony for a law eliminating the requirement that regulatory agencies verify a person’s immigration status before issuing or renewing a license, certificate or registration. “Colorado needs the contributions from everybody in our state with all different talents and skills to have good jobs and work and employ their abilities to make us all better off.”

The barriers are white I would presume. Taking their jobs, homes, money, businesses and history.
Colorado is smashing THE LAW.
I think Colorado needs a deep forensic audit of their election system. They went full mail-in a few years ago and it hasn’t been the same since.
My daughter moved to Denver 5 years ago. We visited then, and each year since. Each year the ongoing transition from a clean, safe city to a 3rd world $hithole is obvious.
Laws get in the way.

California made their state more welcoming for shoplifters by giving them $900 worth of merchandise they could steal without penalty. New York made their state more welcoming welcoming for gang bangers by releasing them with low or no bail aftet they get arrested for terrorizing law abiding citizens. Why not make life easier for illegal immigrants? It’s the Democratic way.

I have some friends in Denver - well, they’re there for now. They are “very well off” and retired. They got seriously bent over by taxes last year. They are moving to Tennessee in a couple of months. They are done with Denver, done with Colorado. I am ready to pull the trigger on Colorado too. If/when my wife says let’s go, I’ll start packing that same day.
Undermining federal laws should have a price.
