The acting head of the White House budget office has refused to rule out sending more US money to the Wuhan lab COVID-19 is feared to have leaked from.
Acting Office of Management and Budget (OMB) Director Shalanda Young said she would 'never make that commitment' to cut all future funding to the Wuhan Institute of Virology in China.
Young faced questions from lawmakers about Joe Biden's budget proposal during a Budget Committee hearing Wednesday, including pointed questions over the sending of federal funds to the Chinese lab.

China does not need any funding for anything - it’s a very rich nation now.
The only reason funding is sent to this laboratory is to allow it to do work that is deemed too dangerous or illegal in the West.

You are probably right in that this funded work in China was either illegal or too dangerous. But this brings us to a bigger question.
If you consider how incompetent that Chinese businesses have been over the past twenty years, and you were handing them a project where a thousand possible problems could occur because of marginal safety standards...why would you take that risk (even from the American prospective)?
This would be like asking a Chinese construction company and Chinese engineers to build some mega-sized bridge, in record time, and not sit worrying about the eventual collapse coming one day.

We also cannot discount the leverage the Chinese government has on the Biden family. They likely have lots of information about Joe and Hunter.
