To solicit opinions is one thing. For those opinions to be supported by verifiable information is another. Media gives the illusion that we know much more than we really do. Our egos likewise are convincing of much more than is really so.
Take your local hospital, for example. How do you know how many COVID 19 cases have been treated there unless you visit, inquire, and verify (as if any hospital would grant the privilege)? But no. It’s on the news and that settles it.
Modern man’s ability for serious inquiry has been throttled by public education and the boob tube. The idiocracy commenced long ago, thanks be to Dewey et al.

We are stuck in Clown World trying to find our way out of a Fun House that seems to have no limit and no exit.
are you implying that all the world’s media, all the world’s hospitals, all the vendors that supply PPE and other ICU-related supplies, all the relatives of those who work ICU, all the people worldwide who know of or who have personally had a relative really sick or have lost a relative to covid and all the world’s leaders, friend and foe, are.... conspiring together for a narrative that is not to anyone’s benefit? That’s about as far out as believing Flight 93 survivors are living in Fuji. Dude!
My local hospitals are San Diego and Los Angeles - that were slammed with CCPVirus patients for months. And completely verifiable by those that worked the units.
