i only know of defensive weapons. assault weapons are non existant
As a slice of the yearly death pie, AR’s take way fewer lives than knives, fist punches, and other means of attack.
Here is the gun grabber conundrum:
Handguns are the “great equalizer”, and can be found in the purses of a LOT of feminists and other leftists.
So they can’t go after handguns.
Rifles are part of the “what they used when the second amendment was written” and fall under the “guns are ok for hunting” argument.
So they can’t go after rifles.
Shotguns, like rifles, have also been around a very long time and are part of the “hunting and sport” category, basically.
So they can’t go after shotguns.
That leaves “scary looking guns”. So they go after those.
But in reality those are no different or more capable than any of the others. So the whole thing is, really, stupid. And at the end of the day, everybody knows it.
They want to ban assault guns, but never a complaint against a pepper gun.

I have a fine collection of semi-automatic target rifles. The only thing they have ever assaulted was my shoulder.
For A Skakel/Kennedy clan, it would be a golf club or a car.

Yes they have, do, and will.
AR’s are the gateway weapon.
If they get away with banning the scary looking black rifles, they will go after other firearms.
They are already talking about banning all semi autos.
Assault weapon: Any gun that scares a liberal.
Oh, the plan is certainly to eliminate all of them, except in the hands of criminals and their own (which is redundant).
They are hoping that the “scary looking/sounding rifle” is the camel’s nose in the tent, since they haven’t had much luck, other ways.
They are already talking about banning all semi autos.
I don’t really even worry about this gun grabbing stuff any more. When I can get ammo in plentiful supply and cheap, that is when they may be able to do something. When “everybody” is arming up, banning guns is not a popular thing to do.
According to Meriam-Webster, the definition of assault is:
- a violent physical or verbal attack
- a military attack usually involving direct combat with enemy forces
- a concerted effort (as to reach a goal or defeat an adversary)
No gun can do any of that on its own.

True assault rifles are select fire, meaning they can be fired in full auto, which are tightly controlled and require registration and licensing.
