A father-of-three out jogging on Saturday morning in Atlanta's wealthiest neighborhood, Buckhead, was shot twice by a 'mentally ill' man who police say also opened fire on two other people and mowed down a neighbor with his car.
Atlanta police arrested and charged 22-year-old Gaelen Newsom with attempted murder, three counts of aggravated assault and two counts of possession of a firearm during a crime in connection with the weekend crime spree.
The first shooting took place in the 1200 block of West Wesley Road in Buckhead, Atlanta's richest section, which has been making a push to form its own police force and secede from the rest of the city amid skyrocketing crime rates.

The fact that our cities will become far less safe means nothing to these untalented elites. Why would it? Many of them have very elaborate security details, and don’t have to worry about their safety.

I know how to keep a community safe if the price was agreeable. Some may say the methods are harsh, but for us types that were sheepdogs in the army, all we cared about was protecting the sheep, the wolves weren’t tolerated or dealt with kindly.

I live on a street that is an oval, one mile around, with 98 homes and with a single entrance.
There are about a dozen black and brown families and everyone works.
The home that sold last week had an in ground pool and sold for $375K which is a shade over the average price.
If people can afford to move in to this neighborhood, they are not on any kind of gummint {Section 8 program} and I don't care what color they are.
I'm retired so I see most of the people {at least once or twice a month} during my two daily walks around the neighborhood {I always carry} and everyone is friendly.

When I was born, the neighborhood was all white. One black family bought a house and literally within a year it was 80% black and within 2 years, 95-96% black. It was quite safe though, until about 1969 when less desirable elements started moving in.
That’s when we moved. Nowadays I’m scared to even drive through, much less move there.
