CHICAGO (WLS) -- Chicago weekend violence has least at least 55 people shot, five fatally, since 6 p.m. on Friday, police said.
Chicago Police Superintendent David Brown will hold a morning press conference Monday as the violence soars all across the city.
The latest shooting took place minutes before midnight in the 3100-block of South Lake Shore Drive. Someone fired shots from a passing car hitting another car. That driver lost control and crashed into a tree. Police said no one was injured.
Also Sunday night, an 11-year-old girl was shot in the back in the West Pullman neighborhood around 9 p.m. Witnesses told police they saw someone shooting from a passing car. The girl is now in serious condition.
Just two hours earlier, a 15-year-old boy was shot in the 10000-block of South Evans Avenue in Burnside. He was transported to a hospital in stable condition.
And the Chicago shooting attracting national attention occurred at about 4 a.m. Sunday when at least eight people were wounded around after someone fired into a crowd at a party in the 8900-block of South Cottage Grove Avenue in Burnside.
Six men and two women are among the injured, more than half are in serious to critical condition.
"There were a lot of people and a lot of shooting, so they did not know where to run or where to hide," said Street Pastor Donovan Price.

If the urban ‘minorities’ who are victims of the crimes don’t care and the leftists who just want uncontrolled political power using the minority votes don’t care … should I care?
Aren’t there very strict gun laws in Chicago? Hmmm.
“Black lives matter”?

As a rural Pennsylvanian, if I give up my guns, the good people of Chicago will be safer. Our local news commented on the number of people in Chicago hurt by GUN violence this year. Wrong G word, idiots......GANG violence.
Even if these thugs are not part of some official national gang, the whole gangsta lifestyle has been romanticized by these asshats.
The good people are unarmed while the thugs have the firepower.
One feels sorry for the people but they voted for this crap so live with it.....or not
Well, now we know where all the ammo is going...
I’m feeling the same way. No doubt the democrats ruined the cities they run, but at what point do we stop blaming them and start blaming the people who keep voting for them?
It’s worth noting that a non-fatal gunshot wound can easily incur $20,000 in healthcare costs. A severe shot including bones or major organs can easily incur $100,000 or more, plus rehab and aftercare.
I would submit that not all of the lead recipients are insured, which means that the people of Chicago (and Cook County) are absorbing whatever costs the hospitals are not forced to bear.
“Tulsa Massacre”
"With the pandemic ending, Americans are once again shooting at each other"
I had to do a double-take on that one...
Chicago gun violence totals $447M in hospital bills since 2009
Well, you at least have to balance those costs with the invaluable real world training the trauma surgeons and EMTs get that they would be harder pressed to receive anywhere else in the world. < /sarcasm>

Early Monday maths: 5/55= 9.09% DEATH RATE
This is known and intended by the democrats who want blacks down and miserable, so they can be persuaded to vote democrat and blame their failures on Whitey.
I am always amazed by the Chicago weekend shooting #’s. Less than 10% death rate. But somehow deranged shooters when in a school score 100%.
“ which means that the people of Chicago (and Cook County) are absorbing whatever costs the hospitals are not forced to bear.”
Heyjackass.com tracks those numbers fairly well. It’s tens of millions of dollars annually.

No mention of the mass shooting of eight people at 4:00 AM on Sunday in the Chatham neighborhood on the South Side.
I wonder why?
