Did Mike Pence just doom his 2024 chances?
CNN ^ | June 5, 2021 | Chris Cillizza

At a stop in New Hampshire on Thursday night, former Vice President Mike Pence defended his actions on January 6 and, in the process, may well have doomed (or at the very least hamstrung) his chances of emerging as the Republican presidential nominee in 2024.

"January 6 was a dark day in the history of the US Capitol," Pence said. "That same day we reconvened the Congress and did our duty. ... You know, President Trump and I have spoken many times since we left office and I don't know if we'll ever see eye to eye on that day." Pence is, of course, right. The violent insurrection at the US Capitol, which left more than 100 police officers injured and five people dead, were a cataclysm the likes of which American democracy has rarely seen. And Pence, as vice president on that day, had no role other than a ceremonial one -- to oversee the formal certification of the electoral vote count that showed Joe Biden as the winner of the 2020 election.

None of those facts will protect him from the anger of Donald Trump and the base the former President commands, however.

Monarchies?

Hope you’re not dreading Christ’s rule, then.

Some replies are so assinine that it be better to ignore.

Yours is a prime example.

But you didn’t ignore it.

It’s God that established kingdoms on the earth; the Hebrew and Greek words render it so. Dismissing them in a left-wing manner is a trap.

Are you really that ignorant to reply with such a argumentative way?

There was no referral to any such in my original post towards the Almighty kingdom.

Why dont you go look in a mirror and see a real demonic reflection. You are a deceiver and you know the name that represents that.

We are done.

That’s why I followed up with the fact that God established monarchies. That of course does not make all kings or queens good by default, but God made an inherited kingdom out of Israel because that is what He promised David.

And you seem to be a little too fond of ad hominem.

And just what did the man upstairs tell Samuel about monarchy's when the Israelite's demanded one? Huh? What did he tell Samuel about what will happen under a monarchy?

As for ad hominem you assume much, but then, you seem to have a shameful habit of confrontations by your assumptions.

That was specific at the time to Saul son of Kish. David and Solomon, while nowhere near perfect, were different kettles of fish, with the former dubbed a man after God’s own heart and the latter given the honor of building the First Temple.

Words like “assinine” (sic) and “ignorant” qualify as the ad hominem form of the logical fallacy.
