There are interesting mud pots near the Salton Sea. My son and his friends saw them in December. One friend went back a couple months later and it was substantially different. There is a lot going on geologically there. Also, a few years ago there was a “big one” not far away from there in Mexico. Very little damage because it was remote. We felt that one here in LA.
