We still have that in my County for County jail inmates. They aren’t chained but they are in striped uniforms with an armed deputy following them in a truck. I saw one group that had yellow placards on their backs that told what they were doing time for. For example “I was driving drunk” or “I was arrested for theft”, stuff like that.
As is often the case, the best solution for Texas is the simplest solution; catch them, put them on buses to the US out of Texas.......wave them on through. The Feds arent going to protect the Texas border, let them deal with the problem in LA or Chicago, but keep them moving right through Texas.
A crowdfunding campaign would quickly pay for that.

Regardless of what it costs, illegals cost us over $1 trillion dollars a year when everything is calculated relating to costs associated with illegal activities. If it cost 25 billion to arrest and try them so wnat? We are cutting down o. The skyrocketing costs of illegals here in the US. A $25 billion dol.ar Wall is a drop in the bucket compared to what we would save by keeping out nearly all the illegals and booting the ones here out. We would be saving near $1 trillion a year. Even at 1/2 the cost it would still be a massive bargain to build the wall!
Not doing anything about illegal invaders is going to cost us more.
Send them to some remote island off the coast of Alaska and air drop supplies once a month.

Members of an invading army wear uniforms and are subject to the Geneva Convention and other international agreements. People not wearing those uniforms would be spies and subject to other rules, correct?
