Hoping to cut through a crowded field and capture supporters of former President Donald Trump, Republican Mike Carey this week is campaigning with former Trump campaign manager Corey Lewandowski.

Carey is running in the Republican primary for the party nomination in a special election to fill the U.S. House seat vacated by Steve Stivers. Stivers, a Republican, stepped down early to become chief executive of the Ohio Chamber of Commerce.

A dozen Republicans and two Democrats are running for the seat.
