Yeah…this will never happen.

I would prefer they teach reading. Or even some math.

And what do we do when the local Imam is allowed to come in and lead the prayers?

Children need to learn to pray at home and know that they can talk to their Saviour anytime, even while sitting at their school desk - one on One.

As long as there are final exams there will be prayer in public schools.

Should have never been taken out. In 5th grade our teacher would lead us in prayer in the morning. Or a moment of silence to pray. Short prayer and pledge of allegiance. I remember being young and teacher teaching us songs. This land is my land and songs like that.

Well, it would not even be possible to agree on pronouns for the God to whom generic prayers would be addressed. Does anyone think two minutes of strenuously enforced silence in the typical classroom would improve anyone’s spirituality?

Public schools have no place in a free nation. Screw the prayers. Just close the damn schools.

I strongly support prayer at home; not in publicly funded institutions like public school. There are people of many religions attending America's public schools and it is absolutely unfair to have prayers of one religion be forced on kids of other religions. I have personal experience with this. I am Jewish. My parents were Jewish, too, but not religious. That I took on myself 45 years ago and never looked back. But I always had a strong Jewish self-identity. In the public schools I attended, anti-semitism was very much alive and well. In elementary school, I had a kid call me a kike--right before I bloodied his face with a length of bike chain I was using on my bike at the moment. In jr. high, the music teacher put me out in the hall during class because I refused to sing Xmas carols, knocking me off the honor roll that semester. I had a teacher tell me in high school that my "skull would have made a great paperweight; Hitler knew what to do with you people". I had another teacher put his arm around me, declaring, "I love Jewish people" when it was obvious he didn't. Do you think I was going to utter prayers foreign to my religion and declare adoration to deities not part of my religion? And how I used to love Xmas time and Easter, when otherwise non-religious students would "remember" that "You Jews killed JC!" and fling that accusation at me and the 10 other Jewish students. How utterly pleasant it was to be targeted with suspicion and scorn for weeks at those times of the year. Not.

School is not the proper venue to teach religion--the HOME is. Parents must teach this, not leave it to a government-funded institution. Schools can be fine places to learn math, English, science and American history, but not religion.

As of later years, when people “got smart and saw prayer as bad”... yeah... there are people out there who have no sense.

When I was a kid in school, they had prayer if anyone wanted to and no prayer if no one wanted to. It didn’t matter.. it was not thought of as evil... it was a part of everyone’s life. The 3rd grade teacher said a prayer before lunch, for as many years she taught. we had a church type program just about every week... no one complained. We ... the whole school.. walked to the local church for Good Friday Services.. no one complained.

They just want to raise a stink to show they are so smart.. when they are low on the learning scale...

Then one day a daughter in law of a friend from way back... said she’d take her kids out of school if they brought the bible back in school. I wanted to kick her, but she was on one of those social things bragging about how free she was.

I see them as unnecessarily rebellious over nothing to fear but they fear it anyway... heaven forbid one of her kids learned a bible verse... the youth has become the rebellion of the year... every year.. they don’t have common sense but they do know how to cause a ruckus... just for the heck of it.

back when I was on FB, she was sounding off on things she thought she knew. I knew who she was but she didn’t know who I was. I knew her mother in law from childhood.. I knew that mother’s father also that long... he registered me to vote my very first time.
as she went on and I was engaging her... I finally ask her what “joe blow”...(I said his real name) would think abut all this today... she shut up for a bit... so I went on to tell her I grew up with that family in our neighborhood. She came back on to say she was taught to respect her elders and so she had no more to say.

I knew her to be a smart >>>> so I enjoyed stopping her with her friends on board also.. never hurt ... she still does not know who I was... and FB is a thing of the past for me.

This why I home schooled my daughter.I was able to show her that the name of Cyrus was written down by Isaiah 150 years before he was born and then it described how he would conquer Babylon by lowering the water level of the river. You can also read Daniel and figure out how many days are in the 69 weeks prophesied and count the days from Nehemiah's order to go and repair Jerusalem (which we conveniently have written down in history), and the day Messiah would ride a colt into the Temple declaring Himself "King of the Jews", and of course Jesus was there exactly on the predicted day. Jesus was told by the Pharisee's to shut His people up and He replied that if they didn't declare Him King, the rocks would cry out. The Pharisees knew the predicted day, but denied it was Jesus. Right after that Jesus looked upon Jerusalem and wept because they missed their hour of visitation. He then predicted that Jerusalem would be surrounded and destroyed with the Temple not retaining one stone upon another, as it was in 70AD.

These are just a few of the reasons I'm frustrated with unbelief and fighting with "supposed Christians" on our heritage in America. These lukewarm heretics keep acting like its just a matter of blind faith in fairy tales and isn't even allowed in official discussions.

Our country was founded by devout Christians who set the country up as a Christian nation. If we look at the differences of the founders, it was the differences in being a Baptist or Anglican, or Methodist, or some other denomination, NOT whether you believed in God or not. Our early quarrels with atheists ended up in the Supreme Court with the Christians the winners. Through lies and treachery something happened in the 1940's to change the courts. By misinterpreting the Fist Amendment, Satan has brought us to where we are now. We are now accelerating to our doom at lightning speed. Ask yourself where the truth is today? If a fact checker employed by China working for Facebook disagrees with an eyewitness, the truth becomes flexible.

It's all talk until you come home from work with your daughter having to watch a boy identifying as a girl masturbates in front of her in the school unisex bathroom. Then you may wake up to how far we've sunk. All of the crime and perversion can be explained by denying your children a Christian education and upbringing, but they will explain that is the only thing we are unable to do. Look at the money they spend on ungodly things children don't need and can't use. They will tell you they are unable to bring up God or the Bible so you know Satan has blocked off the only path to life for our country and our children. You might as well throw your children on the fires of Baal as to raise them in public school.

For me, it was just easier to home school and raise a child with common sense and a heart of goodness instead of the ignorant black hearted trolls we have now.

If you still don't understand what I'm talking about, pull up charts for murder, drugs, burglary, rape and other crimes and compare levels from the 1950's until today. Which one has gotten better? I'm even old enough to remember the invention of Birth control pills. It was touted to reduce illegal abortions and free women from unwanted pregnancy. How many abortions do we have now vs. then? How many STD's have increased since then?

It's humbling to think that just praying and studying the Bible could turn all of this around for the better, yet absolutely NO ONE is suggesting this solution. Having people with better character would solve so many problems that we are suffering with now it's silly to believe another "program" will fix anything.

If parents don’t value prayer, this does nothing. If parents do value prayer, this doesn’t matter.
