They made people too scared to ****.
Quite the accomplishment when you think about it.

Lots of folks lost their jobs last year. Even the lowly amoeba cuts its own reproduction when resources are scarce. The rent, the health care, it’s all too d—n high!

births fell yet again in 2020 to a low not seen since 1979. Cue up the 3rd world refugee and open borders fanatics to demand more immigration into the U.S. - they're needed to "save the old people's Social Security."

None of my Daughter’s College friends now in their middle 30’s have kids - some have built 4 Bedroom, 4000 Sq foot homes - for what?
The answer I get is that their “careers” come first or they would be bad parents.
One family in our neighborhood has 5 adult children, all married, but only 1 grand child. The kid will be rich one day.

I have two daughters in their early thirties. They are both career professional women and right now have no desire to start a family. Ultimately I just want them to be happy in life and whatever that may be I'm good with it. However, my wife is a born mother and would love to have grandkids. I know it hurts her. I personally don't buy all this financial hardship baloney. Both my wife and I come from large families and grew up lower middle class to poor and our parents made due. We turned out all right. Between my military career and life after military retirement we experienced our own hardships. We made due and our kids didn't suffer. You make due and get by. So what you can't afford the biggest house or the nicest newest SUV to drive your kids around in. You make sacrifices and take on responsibilities when you raise a family. In the end, it's worth it to see them grow up, graduate high school, college and get married... In short, become adults. No one said being a parent was going to be a picnic but the hardest things in life to do, make you better in the end.
