I have two daughters in their early thirties. They are both career professional women and right now have no desire to start a family. Ultimately I just want them to be happy in life and whatever that may be I'm good with it. However, my wife is a born mother and would love to have grandkids. I know it hurts her. I personally don't buy all this financial hardship baloney. Both my wife and I come from large families and grew up lower middle class to poor and our parents made due. We turned out all right. Between my military career and life after military retirement we experienced our own hardships. We made due and our kids didn't suffer. You make due and get by. So what you can't afford the biggest house or the nicest newest SUV to drive your kids around in. You make sacrifices and take on responsibilities when you raise a family. In the end, it's worth it to see them grow up, graduate high school, college and get married... In short, become adults. No one said being a parent was going to be a picnic but the hardest things in life to do, make you better in the end.

Yep.

I get so frustrated when I hear people say “you can’t raise kids on a single income”. Bull. I’m not saying it’s always easy. And it takes a lot of deliberate choices to get your family to that point: if you buy an expensive house right off the bat, then of *course* you won’t be able to make it.

But it is still doable with a little modesty in your desires and a willingness to make it work.

I have 2 grand children, and both are boys. I was in my early 60 when the older Grandson was born. I thought I would never become a grand mother.

But better late, than never.

The psychological destruction of America started a few generations ago ... and imo .... it began, and continues ..... in public school
