The article does little to indicate how the damages total to $1.5M. There are some still photos of a damaged desk type piece of furniture. The there’s a video that shows the same piece of furniture. The article does mention that some historical art pieces were damaged. I could see the government paying through the nose to restore or replace those. Also mentioned cleanup of chemicals from fire extinguishers and tear gas canisters. Okay. But how does this all get to $1.5M? Seems like a well padded stretch.
They have to be fools to accept a plea. The police let them in and were right there the whole time. Demand a jury trial and exercise discovery to dig deeply into their internal communications, emails and videos.
