A restrictive voting bill in Texas that was on the verge of Republican Gov. Greg Abbott’s desk failed to pass Sunday night after Democrats walked out of the House chamber before a midnight deadline.
Abbott swiftly said he would call a special session to try passing a voting bill again but did not say when.“We’ve said for so many years that we want more people to participate in our democracy. And it just seems that’s not the case,” Democratic state Rep. Carl Sherman said.
The bill known as Senate Bill 7 would have imposed a raft of election changes that eliminate drive-thru voting, empower partisan poll watchers and impose new requirements in order to cast a ballot by mail in Texas, which already has some of toughest voting laws in the nation.

Abbotts a dumbass. Should have ordered Texas Rangers to seal the exits until the vote was completed.

Typical lazy reporting. Republicans control the House 83-67. Most people think of a quorum as half plus one. What is a quorum in the Texas legislature. Inquiring minds want to know

In order for the Texas House to conduct business, a quorum of two-thirds of the chamber’s members (100 out of 150) are required to be present.

I guess this means that the democrats can always win when it comes to blocking a bill. All they have to do is walk out. What is wrong with that picture?

#8. Do a “PELOSI” on the Texas House the next time it is nearly full/full capacity. Lock the doors and don’t let anyone out until the voting is finished.
I don’t see anything in the article about any concern being expressed for a citizens right to not have their legitimately cast ballot being cancelled by a fraudulently cast ballot.
Seal the exits? That’s bonehead and would give the Rats sympathy.
Run the process and kick their teeth in. Nice and legal.
