I really, really tried to listen to Dan, but there was just too many commercial appeals embedded in his monologues. It was just one ad after another. I endured the whole thing but wanted to turn it off after a few minutes of this.
And each product has to be personally endorsed; by him, by his wife, his family, his friends--best ever, can't sleep/work/go on without it type testimony that after a while sounds fake.
Rush endorsed maybe 3 or 4 products in a 3 hour show (Bollen Branch, Norton VPN, etc). Because I would always listen to his podcast in the afternoon, I could fast forward thru those.
But 4 or 5 products every half hour is too much.
I understand Dan has to make a living, but it is agony to me having to listen. It breaks up the entire experience into little chunks. Rush could weave his thoughts and calls like a master rugmaker over the three hours.
I spent 22 years active duty, but today is their day. I hate when people mix Veterans and Memorial day.
This day, we bow our heads and remember them. Here in the South, this used to be called Decoration Day. It’s still a good tradition.
Tomorrow, pick a few flowers, or buy some small flags, and go through a cemetery, placing those items on the graves of those who died in OUR service.
All gave some and some gave ALL.

Yeah I get it been there done that. It’s hard to push that many spots in a short time without making it real. I had a sponsor who loved to fish and I did a fishing show. We would chat for a few minutes about his latest fishing trip and blend it in with his product line. It worked well no one flipped the station. It’s not easy but it is doable.
The pressure from station mgmt. is huge.All they want is one spot after another,just listen to am610 in the mornigns sometime its like that on steroids. Jimmy Cefalo former dolphin is the host and he’s as good as they come. But even he winds up at 78 rpm’s trying to get all the spots in.
I like Mr. Bongino, but haven’t heard him host a radio show yet. I share your aversion for the over-use of personal endorsements by a host. I think this is a problem on Hugh Hewitt’s show, too.
Agree with your analysis of Travis/Sexton. Travis will be the more entertaining, spontaneous, and less conventional. Sexton will be circumscribed by his CIA roots.

Thinking back 30 years, —you will remember—Rush succeeded because he continually expressed what we were thinking, whether unable or afraid to express it. That’s the over-riding key. The ability to relate to what America is feeling. In tune with us.
There are hundreds of conservative talkers on tv and radio right now and most are in tune to one degree or another. Tucker Carlson comes closest as of late, imho....but none have yet to hit the Rush sweet spot.

Maybe they are setting up Fauci as the fall guy for Covid rather than blame China, he needs to change the subject. Biden is so compromised by China. Fauci could be a distraction.
