Thinking back 30 years, —you will remember—Rush succeeded because he continually expressed what we were thinking, whether unable or afraid to express it. That’s the over-riding key. The ability to relate to what America is feeling. In tune with us.
There are hundreds of conservative talkers on tv and radio right now and most are in tune to one degree or another. Tucker Carlson comes closest as of late, imho....but none have yet to hit the Rush sweet spot.
Limbaugh was the complete package.
He always broadcast at the first year of college level never above or below. He made sure everyone was on board with what he was talking about or he did not cover it. And, he missed many a topic due to not being able to bring the level down. His voice was excellent, smooth as silk,seldom got rattled.He was able to do a live spot blending it into his current talk like no one else. Some never even caught that he had gone from doing the show to doing a live spot he was so good. I could go on but he was the best.
