California workforce regulators recommended Friday that the state stick with a July 31 deadline for updating certain employer pandemic safety rules instead of adopting Gov. Gavin Newsom’s mid-June lifting of mask and physical distancing requirements in most social settings.

I’m reminded of a story my dentist told. He’d just started private practice and had done his first surgery. Hours later, the patient called and wanted to know how much longer he had to keep the cotton balls in his mouth. Realizing he’d forgotten to take them out the dentist said, “Give it another two hours.”
I think Democrats are realizing that not only did the masks and shutdowns not work, they’ve thoroughly pissed off the voters. They’re trying to think of a way out without admitting they’ve made a mistake.
The MSM will help them cover it up. This won’t even make the New York Times.
Newsome will capitulate to the late July “re-opening.”
What does it matter at this point?
There are massive business closure in my mid-sized California town - and they aren’t coming back.

It’s all about covering their posteriors now.
Here in NJ we had one of the strictest lockdowns in the nation (to the point that when the CDC eased restrictions a few weeks ago our governor stated “we’re no there yet” and kept it in place), and even our governor then did an abrupt about-face with no medical explanation and said our students would have their proms and graduations.
Our restrictions are gone, and with no real explanation besides MONEY. Much of the economy is destroyed and won’t recover; we’ve lost a lot of skilled Americans and they aren’t coming back.
For one thing, these dates are arbitrary, decided by some bean counter bureaucrat in the government.
The dang virus doesn't have a calendar it operates off of. It's a dead, inert particle. It could care less what date the masks come off.
Don't these people realize the public can see through their stupid rules and they are getting tired of living like the Day of the Living Dead?
Lift the mandate and let people move on with heir lives. This obsession with dates is ridiculous.

Went to our local Eagles Club (aerie) last night and was thrilled to discover it was now a mask “free” zone.
No masks, no social distancing.

Remember when Democrats kept bludgeoning everyone with “We follow the science”? Yet another false mantra used simply to shut down debate.
It’s guidelines for employees, not customers. By the way, most restaurants and businesses in my area of Orange County are already open to 100% occupancy. Lots of businesses are also making masks optional for customers; Trader Joe’s, Home Depot.

I think this was the purpose. Yep, I sound like a raving conspiracy theorist. It’s not a conspiracy in that a bunch of liberals got into a room and came up with a coherent plan to destroy America. It’s that the core belief of every Liberal is that America is bad and doing anything to hurt America will further the goal of utopia, when rainbows will be everywhere and there won’t be any white, heterosexuals, except, of course, liberal ones. Therefore if every liberal in a position to do some damage does that damage, it will be good for Gaia...or something. The net result is where we are today.
I’ve read that Hitler never signed orders to build the holocaust machinery. He merely put people in place who believed like he did and they took care of the details. That’s the problem with letting the Democrats ever have a majority anywhere. They get to set the agenda and where we are today is where that agenda leads. This is a message to all those who refuse to vote because the Republican candidate doesn’t meet their purity test. Whether he does or doesn’t is not relevant. Getting to set the agenda is what matters.
I’m not a raving conspiracy theorist; it just seems very obvious that the reaction to a very real virus was designed to change the president while creating a more powerful central government. Biden lost the election.
IIRC, Hitler was imprisoned because his signature appeared on something related to the Beer Hall Putsch; he didn’t necessarily need like-minded people, but just gave verbal orders - he specifically never officially signed anything related to the murders committed by his regime.
