Former President Donald Trump blasted the Ronald Reagan Presidential Library and Museum a day after former House Speaker Paul D. Ryan appeared there and delivered a thinly veiled critique of the 45th president’s grip on the party.
“Ronald Reagan would not be happy to see that the Reagan Library is run by the head of the Washington Post, Fred Ryan,” Mr. Trump said in a statement.
“How the hell did that happen?” he said. “No wonder they consistently have RINO speakers like Karl Rove and Paul Ryan.”
He added: “They do nothing for our forward-surging Republican Party!”
Mr. Ryan did not mention Mr. Trump by name in his address, nor did he mention the Jan. 6 riot at the U.S. Capitol.

The RINO’s of the day, back then called Country Club Republicans HATED Reagan. They did everything they could to defeat him. HW was their point man. They failed to defeat Reagan.
Reagan’s biggest mistake was to make HW his VP. A tradition back in the day was to name the second place person your VP. Reagan was so loved that HW ran as Reagan’s Third Term. Once elected he reverted to his true RINO self. And was a one-term president. The Bush’s and all like them are RINO’s. Dem Light. And, those that hate President Trump are EXACTLY the kind of RINO’s/Country Club “republicans” that hated Reagan.
President Trump is 100% correct to call them out.
Fred Ryan happened because he was Reagan’s Chief of Staff after he was President. He probably was picked by Nancy.

The library's first director under this system was a Nixon-hater who tried to get the library to show Nixon in his worst possible light--which soon brought him into open conflict with the Nixon Foundation and the Docent Guild, the association of the library's volunteer tour guides. After four acrimonious years, he finally left.
Although the National Archives administration is somewhat friendlier to Nixon and his legacy, the Foundation, which was originally run by former Nixon staffers and associates, is now headed by Hugh Hewitt, whose views are well-known to FReepers.
To a man, those who were with the library when it was a private institution pine for those good old days.

Now that’s the context of why Reagan’s name is muddied.
