This is a lesson the Israelis should take to heart if their country is to survive. “Never again” is the national motto, and it’s time an increasingly anti-Semitic world remembered that. As for the Americans—tied down for 20 years in perhaps the stupidest war in its history in Afghanistan, a place of no strategic interest to the nation—it’s time for us to recall that weakness is not strength and that guilt about the past is not conducive to a bright future.
When you have difficulty defeating a rabble of goatherds for lack of willpower—and your last total victory came in 1945—it’s time to sack your officer corps, empty out the Pentagon, get women off the front lines, bring back the male-only draft, train warriors and not guidance counselors, and elect an administration who understands the nature—and, more importantly, the purpose—of warfare.

Well Amen to that. That is exactly what the US Military needs. A thorough purge of progressives and a renewed focus on combat leadership.
The problem is that we are fighting for the “hearts and souls” of the people. That’s almost impossible task, especially when some terrorist demagogue points out the “foreign occupiers”.
Even if we convince most of the people, Hearts and souls are useless against brute force!
War should be fought fast and decisive. Rules, such as the one we are allowed to shoot only when shot at, are recipe for defeat!
Israel is stacked top to bottom with suicidal Jewish Palestinian muslim apologists. Its a wonder they survived the Simon Peres years when blowing up deserts was the best they could manage in response to rocket and mortar attacks. Now the suicidal urge is kicking in again when the IDF plans a major operation without ground troops, and continues to warn their sworn enemies that they are a target. There is not a person in Gaza - man woman child - that would not gladly die to kill just one Jew.
Israel has stopped winning and hence has started losing.
Israel keeps winning all the battles but the war goes on.
The problem Israel has is they are too moral to fight total war. The problem their enemies have is Israeli warfighters and technology are just plain better. Oh yeah and at the end Jehovah has their back.
To the warfighter point: Ever sparred with an Israeli combat instructor? I have. Let’s just say it was humiliating for me (and I have 30 years of martial arts - not the junk ones but useful ones - under my belt). It wasn’t even close. Don’t think I have ever been hit that hard - and he was pulling his punches. Only one who hit me near as hard was a US Marine combat instructor. Another humiliating exercise.
Not true. Three of the last four nights there have been horrible fires at key Iranian facilities. Drones, missile manufacturing, and nuclear bomb development has been affected. It’s a shame I tell you. Not sure what is going on over there but you keep believing Israel will slumber.
Right in this. A war isn’t over with a ceasefire—it end with one side winning and one side losing. No one has won any of the Israeli wars—they end with a cease fire—a time to re-arm and regroup for another battle. Sadly, the other side doesn’t see this as saving lives—they see it as a “Holy War” that they will win in time. If the Israeli continue to fight in this way—The Islamic people will win. It is only a question of time. Israel only has a few choices too make—none of them are good. 1) Move out of Israel and set up another nation someplace else. Maybe North America or Africa. 2) Go and force islamic people to become Jews at the point of a sword. 3) Drive out all who are not Jews from the land and don’t let them back in. 4) Next attack seize all Gaza and drive them into the deserts—Men, women and children. Young children seized and raised as Jews. One side must win, one side lose and lose big. The enemy knows this and would do it to the jews in a heartbeat.
The US government and the broader Left in the US is also stacked top to bottom to Palestinian and other Muslim enablers who will gladly help destroy the Jewish state. Our Left is probably not as willing to die to kill Jews, but they certainly will help others do the dirty work. The new USA needs to be neutralized or Israel needs new, powerful, allies to defend against the Biden team and the broad swath of Muslim countries who will move to destroy her whenever they can.
The goal of war is to get your enemy to quit fighting.
The process of war has to be total war that includes all fighters and civilians.
Obviously, neither side wants to end this war. To do so would mean making Israeli citizens out of the millions of arabs that live in Israel.......
That citizenship means voting rights, elections, and.....being able to serve in the Israeli Defense Forces.
The Israelis need, once again, to annihilate the Philistines.

The problem Israel faces is a total war against the Palestinians living in the occupied territoris would leave them open to accusations of genocide.
It's MHO that Israel is particularly sensitive to this.
The concept of total war has been discarded since WW2. And it actually ends up making things worse. Scipio Africanus understood total war.
