Sen. Rand Paul (R-Ky.) says that he won’t get vaccinated against COVID-19, explaining that he already contracted the virus last year and has “natural immunity.”
Paul, who is an ophthalmologist, said that he hasn’t seen evidence proving the vaccine is more effective than having survived the CCP virus, so he won’t get the shot.
“Until they show me evidence that people who have already had the infection are dying in large numbers, or being hospitalized or getting very sick, I just made my own personal decision that I’m not getting vaccinated because I’ve already had the disease, and I have natural immunity,” Paul, who appears to be the first senator to announce he won’t get vaccinated, told WABC 770 AM on May 23, according to news reports.
The senator also noted that the pressure from various institutions to get vaccinated flies in the face of individual liberty.
“In a free country, you would think people would honor the idea that each individual would get to make the medical decision, that it wouldn’t be a big brother coming to tell me what I have to do,” Paul said in the interview, suggesting that the pressure campaign around vaccines could be an attempt to manufacture consent for other power grabs.

Immunity to multiple antigenic sites is always better, it’s also math. Just like an mRNA strand cannot not become a protein with nothing added.

Every morning when he leaves the bed, Rand is reminded of the price he pays for daring to think and speak for himself.
I think he will always suffer from pain when he breathes due to those broken ribs. Can you imagine going through something like that? I am blessed in that I never have had to, at least not yet.
He was a victim of the most vicious kind of Dem, but Rand does not publicly focus on being a victim.
He focuses on problems and their apparent solutions.
Every TV news chyron will now identify him as “anti-vax Republican” and selectively edit his public statements to omit the part about him having recovered from the disease and therefore has, as modern medicine has uniformly understood up until last year that he has gained a natural defense against further infection... unless they can also smear him by saying his “anti-vax” beliefs caused him to contract the virus in the first place.
In before the FReepers bragging about getting the jab. I’ve seen posts on social media of people with tattoos and stuff on arms. People posting selfies, getting the jab while still wearing the mask and eating free donuts. Just pathetic.

I’m 71 years old; a smoker, have COPD, have every ache and pain appropriate for my age group, work every day in my orchard for 10 to 14 hours.

Thank Heavens for Rand Paul. I’m in the same boat as him. Had Covid, it was no big deal for me, why would I get vaccinated? Just seems stupid to take any risk at all, not to mention saves money for the healthcare system.
