Hamas is allied to Iran (Shiite) and most Arabs in the vicinity of Israel are Sunni. Arafat (remember him?) was Sunni. So was Nasser. So was the WWII era pro-Nazi Mufti of Jerusalem.

So this rhetoric is just part of their sectarian squabble.

But all are your enemy if you are not Muslim.
