Former Secretary of State Pompeo pointed to the remarks as a reason why the US should not lift Iranian sanctions
The head of the Palestinian resistance movement thanked Iran for supplying military support and financial backing during the recent conflict with Israel in a televised address Friday.
Just hours after Israel and Palestinian authorities agreed to a ceasefire, Ismail Haniyeh, a chief figure in Hamas, gave a warning that it will continue to "defend" Jerusalem.
"Jerusalem remains the center of the conflict," he said according to a report by the Jerusalem Post, suggesting fighting in the region will continue.
Haniyeh thanked "the Islamic Republic of Iran; who did not hold back with money, weapons and technical support."
"We will use the aid of other Arab countries as well," he added.
Haniyeh’s comments coincided with remarks made by Iranian Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei Friday, who called on Muslim nations to take up arms in support of Palestinians.
"Muslim states must sincerely support the Palestinian people, through military...or financial support...or in rebuilding Gaza's infrastructure," Khamenei said in a statement, first reported Reuters.

Thank goodness the Swamp got rid of Trump and his mean tweets.
Should be a bit more honestly direct and thank Obama and Biden.
I’ve asked before and I’ll ask again. How is Iran or anyone else getting weapons into Gaza. It is bordered by the Mediterranean Sea one side (no real ports that I can see) Israel for the rest except for a 10 km border with Egypt.
As I understand it, the Israeli navy patrols the coast, I’m sure the Israeli check things going into Gaza from their side; that just leaves Egypt. If the rockets are coming in from Egypt...
Trump makes a phone call and gets impeached. B.Hussein and Biden finance terror via Iran and can’t be hailed enough by the media.
I read that an Israeli military spokesman said the weapons are being smuggled in by way of tunnels from Egypt.
Israeli military leaders say they have destroyed more than two dozen missile-building factories in Gaza with airstrikes in recent days. But they estimate that the militants still have thousands of rockets left and the technical capacity to begin building more when the fighting stops.
As Israel has become more effective at blocking the smuggling of weapons into the isolated Mediterranean strip, Iran has looked for other ways to help Hamas, supplying designs and know-how the militants can use to make rockets—in some cases cobbled together from common materials such as pipes, castor oil and scavenged spent Israeli munitions.
“The design is Iranian but the production is local,” said Ephraim Sneh, a retired Israeli brigadier general and former deputy defense minister.
not to worry, Muslim terrorist murder gangsters, Mr. Biden is already promising to send you a ton more $$$$$ so you can buy even more rockets and bombs to murder innocent people with
RE: Hamas Leader Thanks Iran....
So the guy was raised by his mom to say please and thank you. The rest of his knowledge leaves a lot to be desired. Shooting rockets by the hundreds into civilian areas with schools, restaurants, shops and apartments is not polite.
It’s terrorism.
How is Iran or anyone else getting weapons into Gaza.

Smugglers in fishing boats, tunnels, and in parts to be assembled later via ‘supply trucks’, ambulances, ordinary cars, etc - same methods the drug cartels use to get illegals and drugs into the US. There is no such thing as a secure border, there is always a way; and those patrol boats can get tricked into chasing the wrong boat.
This time Hamas starts out with around 10,000 rockets and missiles to be beefed up during the coming years (6 year war cycle) with the addition of GPS guidance units for the rockets and missiles, meaning they will be able to hit targets accurately and with larger payloads than present. In addition, Hamas will likely get surface to air missiles to make things less of a cakewalk for the IAF.
Whatever happens, the politicians (Israeli and international) will halt any actual ground victory by Israel, leaving Hamas increasingly stronger, and Israel increasingly less able to defend itself.
“...with the addition of GPS guidance units for the rockets and missiles, meaning they will be able to hit targets accurately...”
Iran’s military needs to be hit with rockets, as well as Palestine.
Iran has been behind so much terrorism for countless years.
