Biden Is FDR Reincarnated, and Just as Destructive

George Santayana (1863–1952), in The Life of Reason: Five Volume in One, wrote, "Those who cannot remember the past, are condemned to repeat it."

It appears as if Joe Biden can't (or won't) remember and is going to repeat what FDR (and others) did.

Politicians (primarily Democrats such as Schumer, Pelosi, Newsom, Cuomo, and Whitmer) wrecked the U.S. economy through a completely unnecessary and wildly inconsistent power-grab. Now Biden plans to finish it off.

Ian Haworth, on 17 May, wrote "Joe Biden Thinks the Failures of Big Government Can Be Fixed By...More Big Government." Biden actually suggested that the disastrous April jobs report is evidence to support his American Rescue Plan. Biden said, "So look, it's going to continue to improve. Today's report makes clear: thank goodness we passed the American Rescue Plan. Help is here, and more help is on the way, and more help is needed."

Infrastructure and Jobs

Biden proposed a $2.3-trillion infrastructure and jobs spending package, dubbed the American Jobs Plan. Its purpose is to elevate the American economy from the COVID-19 pandemic decline with the largest "jobs investment since World War Two." It is an eight-year initiative, requiring spending about 1% of the annual GDP to rebuild infrastructure for transportation, manufacturing, "affordable housing," tech research and development, and other investments in job programs. About his plan, he said, on March 31, 2021, in Pittsburgh, "It's not a plan that tinkers around the edges. It's a once-in-a-generation investment in America, unlike anything we've seen or done since we've built the interstate highway system or the space race." Biden claims spending on infrastructure will "help us compete with China, combat climate change, kickstart economic growth, and, incredibly, reduce the federal deficit."

Biden is NOT FDR.

FDR ran for office and won.

Biden was killing time in his basement when the election was stolen and given to him.

There's a difference.

There seems to be a lot of chatter in the media about Biden being like FDR. The narrative is out there, that Biden is going to save us from the bad news of the Trump years, just as FDR allegedly saved us from the Great Depression.

FDR did not save us from the Great Depression; he extended it. Read: FDR’s Folly: In FDR’s Folly, historian Jim Powell argues that it was in fact the New Deal itself, with its shortsighted programs, that deepened the Great Depression, swelled the federal government, and prevented the country from turning around quickly. You’ll discover in alarming detail how FDR’s federal programs hurt America more than helped it, with effects we still feel today.

Wrong!

Franklin Roosevelt was an ideologue. Biden is the empty-headed puppet of an extremely dangerous--and, so far, extremely successful--cabal.

Look morons
FDR was a socialist but he also piloted this country from 1933 to 1945 through the most challenging period This country had been through since the Civil War

this was the period in which we had to take on both Nazi Germany and imperial Japan and defeat both of them in both the American and pacific theaters This was unprecedented and world history and required the mobilization of every single American in the entire country on both home and away fronts

his fireside chats and his leader ship during this period cannot be understated

so you can point out the WPA and the socialist policies and the attempts to pack the courts and all that but those of us that understand true history know that America was completely unified under his leader ship in defeating Nazi Germany and defeating Imperialist japan 🇯🇵

The snowflakes of today and the Marxist socialist idiots think that history started when they were born

Try to look at everything through the lens of today and there is no comparison between the 1930s and 40s and today

There are some similarities to Woodrow Wilson.

The guy was incapacitated during his later years, so his wife and Col. House (think Wall Street and Deep State) ran the country.

On his watch, we got:

—The income tax (just on the rich, ya know...)

—The Federal Reserve (bankers running the economy, what could possibly go wrong?)

—Then, the coup de gras—a brutal horrible war that was actually a family feud between European royals.

Spot on. I’m no fan of FDR but comparing the “Biden” administration is camouflage for the deliberate destruction of the country we are witnessing. We need to start calling a spade a spade.

I agree.

IMO, Woodrow Wilson was the worst President in United States history. And 2nd place isn’t in the same ballpark.

Not only was he a full-on Progressive, he was also knuckle dragging racist that stood out even among his less-than-enlightened colleagues.

His public support for segregation, the Ku Klux Klan, and the movie “Birth of a Nation” helped fuel the Klan’s rebirth.

A particularly nasty piece of work.

Joe Biden does not measure up to Franklin Roosevelt achievements. Roosevelt had some good ideas. Biden does not. It is not fair to compare the two.
