In an interview for Epoch TV’s “American Thought Leaders,” Atlas, a public health policy expert, suggested that the consequences of lockdowns, which he believes have been largely fear-driven, will be felt in the country for decades to come.
The lockdowns implemented to curb the transmission of COVID-19 in the United States and across the globe have not only been a “heinous abuse of power,” but they have also failed to protect the elderly and vulnerable, according to former White House COVID-19 adviser Dr. Scott Atlas.
“We will have a massive price to pay for what was done in the United States,” said Atlas. “The consequences of the lockdowns have been enormously harmful and they will last for decades after this pandemic is completely finished.”
Soon, Atlas said, rational thinking and critical thinking disappeared, and lockdown measures were driven by fear. No longer was the goal to prevent the overcrowding of hospitals, but it gradually shifted to stopping COVID-19 cases altogether.
“Fear is very powerful, and it was really shown how powerful fear is during this pandemic. They [Americans] bought into it because it was temporary, because [people] thought that would be a very small price to pay to get things sort of under control, and have some handle on how to proceed,” Atlas said.

Things would have been so much better if Dr. Atlas had been in charge of the NIH instead of Fauci the fraud.
Sick and tired of hearing lockdown, lockdown, lockdown.
There was never a lockdown. Parking lots remained full. Every other house here had construction workers running around like ants. Vacation rentals stayed full so housekeepers, yard crews and repairmen were working through potentially infected houses. Tourists swarmed our town and businesses. Officials gave up trying to keep nail salons and such closed so they remained open. Nope, there was never any staying home.
Early on “non-essential” businesses were locked down, we were told to stay home and not go to work, and only go to Walmart.
our schools and kids were definitely locked down.
Instead of riding the school bus, they were able to go outside and play in the sunshine like real kids.
Being told to stay home is not the same as staying home.
uh no. even our private school instituted zoom school under state/county orders. so they had to do zoom school for 5 hrs a day, chained in front of a computer.
we did move away from that by starting up our own home-school (which i highly recommend) because our kids just couldn’t do the zoom school. too many distractions from internet, twitter and microsoft app store which even i as a software engineer couldn’t disable completely.
Marxist pricks.
There was never a lockdown.
Still living in an alternate reality, cloud cuckoo-land I see. The ease with which you leftists lie is astonishing.
It is a lockdown if you open your business and get fined, charged, arrested and thrown in jail. Just google business lockdown arrested. There are tons of cases.
