You have a right to travel... you do not have a right to do so operating a motorized vehicle on public roads to do so.
Driving is not a right. Never has been.
Breaks my heart to see a boy that young goin' bad.
Get back Biden’s driving again.
To young to die to old to fight concealed carry.
In China there is no right to drive and there is no right to speak freely.
Assuming that you believe that we have a right to free speech, what criteria do you use to deny the existence of a right to drive?
Similarly what determines that there is no right to carry concealed as some people claim? Is there a right to carry openly?
Are all these distinctions just fashion statements? How does one determine what rights a free people have? Or for that matter, how does one determine what rights an UNfree people have?
“,,,you have the right to keep and bear, but you do not have a RIGHT to conceal carry.
If I’m carrying concealed I’m still bearing so why do I not have a right to conceal carry?
“Driving is not a right, Driving is a privilege,”
I gave you two sourced definitions in which “right” is included in the definition of “privilege”. One of the sources is codified law.
“…you do not have any guaranteed RIGHT to drive a motor vehicle on public roads.”
I don’t know about “any guaranteed” but I have the legal right as long as I have the license. And I believe I have the right to a license as long as I can pass the test. I can’t be legally denied for reasons other than failing the test or failing to pay the fees unless my license is legally suspended.
“You have absolutely no RIGHT to drive...”
As far as know, I absolutely have a right to drive a motor vehicle which is my property on land which is my property, even without a license…at least around here.
Sigh, you do not have a right to drive.. you don’t have a right to carry concealed... you may not like that but that’s the reality of the world.
If driving was a right, your grandpa couldn’t lose his license because he can no longer see, or read a eye chart. You do not have to pass a test to exercise a right.
Some states may allow concealed without a license, but most states do not... if it were a right no one would face going to jail for carrying concealed without a license.. because a license is not needed to exercise a right.
Rights require no one to grant you permission to exercise them, that is the very definition of a right.
If driving were a right, no one could be denied a license without a court case declaring they can not do it.. this is of course not how it goes... a government employee who has no judicial authority gets to decide whether or not you are granted the privilege of driving based on how you perform on one or more tests.
I think that unlike many of us, you have a very government-centric view of rights.
By your reasoning, enslaved blacks had no right to freedom prior to the passage of the Thirteenth Amendment. That would make the right to freedom from enslavement an alienable right rather than an unalienable right.
Swede Larson: (about the previous owner of the shotgun...)
“He couldn't see too good. He yust shoot where he hear somebody talk. One night, he get into a fight in the saloon. And, the piano player, he made SO MUCH noise, he couldn't hear the other fella speak. So, he yust shoot the piano player...
...and they hung him!"
Those laser sights could be fitted with a feedback device that lets the blind shooter know when he’s on target.
They were installed at the height of Progressive power.
Then, they were expanded and expanded into insane levels of governmental control.
The second amendment to the Constitution disagrees. What do we fail to comprehend about "shall not be infringed"?
Telling me how I may or may not BEAR arms is a clear infringement.
Driving is not a right.
What came first, other- than- afoot modes of travel including automobiles and aircraft, or an operators permit?
If I claimed it was, maybe you’d have a point.
