Curious if they’re in denial of the genocide.
One of the Waffen-SS quoted in the article denies the holocaust ever took place...basically he said, because a jew published the number killed it could not be true...
If you read the article, yes some deny the genocide.
Some of them, yes. From one of them when asked about the 6 million dead: “That’s a joke,” he said. “I don’t believe it. I will not believe it. It can’t be. Today they say — ‘Excuse me, but it’s the Jew who puts it like that.’ The scale that is claimed today, I deny that, too. I deny it. It didn’t happen.”
Anyway, the owner, his wife and I became fairly close due in part, to the fact I was managing his company. So we had some pretty in-depth conversations. Turned out he was a full-fledged denier of the holocaust. He said there was no way it happened because Germany is a small country and logistically impossible for that many (12 mil ttl) to be killed. That was his logic. He still had his dad's Nazi uniform btw. Probably worth a bloody fortune by now.
Plenty of people were sent to the gas chambers upon arrival at the camps, and plenty more died of disease and malnutrition while at the camps. Holocaust deniers don't want to accept the fact that the Nazis didn't have to murder a large number of prisoners outright, because thousands, perhaps millions of slave laborers died as a result of being overworked, and starved to death by the Nazis working on their various pet projects.
“Curious if they’re in denial of the genocide.”
Depends on who they are and what company they are in.
I’ve met deeply repentant Nazis. Including some who converted to Orthodox Judaism, moved to Israel, and now have completely assimilated grandchildren. Hisotrically, the kids made good Mossad agents, as they don’t “look” Jewish.
And I’ve met the opposite.
