WASHINGTON (Reuters) - President Joe Biden's administration approved the potential sale of $735 million in precision-guided weapons to Israel, and congressional sources said on Monday that U.S. lawmakers were not expected to object to the deal despite violence between Israel and Palestinian militants.
Three congressional aides said Congress was officially notified of the intended commercial sale on May 5, as part of the regular review process before major foreign weapons sales agreements can go ahead.
The sale was first reported by the Washington Post.

Lets face it the Arms business has blood on its hands.
Israel is being attacked by thousands of missiles if Hamas wanted not to be bombed they only had to never attack Israel.
In the past 5 months four Arab countries joined the Abraham accords to have peace and trade with Israel.
Their has always been the desire in Israel since Golda Meir to live in peace with Muslims on Israel’s part.
The UN is a radical organization that always backed terrorists vs. Israel.
There is such a large percentage of patronage in weapon sales that they seem to have a life of their own. That patronage is probably the largest reason our weapons cost so much. The real problem with this is, at some point you are buying weapons not for their military value but for the patronage. This means when you suddenly have to ramp up and build something else, the weapons you need must compete with the existing weapons you don’t need. That worked okay when the US had few competitors and lots of allies. Now we have all competitors and few allies. Also, in future wars we won’t have years to ramp up. Call it weeks or months at most. The entire patronage system needs an overhaul. Not because it’s a good idea to cancel sales for political reasons, but because it no longer suits our strategic needs.
