Home Depot Follows Suit, Drops Hardline Mask Mandate

Home Depot is the latest major retailer to drop its hardline mask policy, following others such as Target, Walmart, and Starbucks.

Home Depot is among the latest to drop its policy requiring all customers to wear a face-covering in the stores. Per a spokesperson, fully vaccinated customers will no longer be required to wear a mask, but unvaccinated individuals “must still wear masks in Home Depot stores and in states where mask mandates remain in place, a company spokesperson for the home improvement chain told CBS MoneyWatch.”

However, like other retailers, it does not appear Home Depot will ask customers for proof of vaccination.

You could say yes and that is a good response, but I like the idea of not accepting that their line of questioning is acceptable. If you say yes, you are conditioning them to keep doing it to other people. Boundaries.

"...Yeah, there’s a new guy in paint that I haven’t met so I don’t know his name yet - but everyone else I do and make a point to talk with them. I have to deal with all the departments, so...”

I have always felt that, there are people who will be happy working at nearly any job, and others who will be miserable working at nearly any job.

Your daughter sounds suited to working with people, and Home Depot seems in many ways, as that kind of job.

I enjoy watching young people (like your daughter) progress over time. It is what finding your way in the world is all about, and it is why minimum wage jobs exist... They exist so you don't have to work at them your entire life making a "living wage", a putrid concept. You use minimum wage jobs as a ladder to learn and grow. And you leave that job behind as you take those experiences with you.

Of all the things that have damaged culture and society, it is this craven impulse by industry to pacify and appease leftists to avoid being picketed.

The Rainbow Coalition honed this “skill” to a fine art.

Of course, now it is the leadership, and they ae no longer intent on pacifying and appeasing. They are part of the movement, and are often intent on advancing it, even to the detriment of the company.

Sad.

I have never worked at a large retail outlet of any kind like that...my jobs as I worked through my youth were like working for small businesses doing janitorial and maintenance odd jobs, worked at a nursing home for a few years, and worked for about a month at a UPS hub in college that was looking for temporary holiday help around Christmas back in the early eighties, and boy oh boy, was that an eye opener for me.

Part of having a job as a young person is also getting exposure to things that compel you to avoid them. That was a zoo. They worked my ass off at that damn UPS job. Remember that old commercial with the ape in a cage working over the American Tourister luggage? I saw some of that. And I saw a guy with a forklift unloading a crated motorcycle from a truck, and he caused that motorcycle to fall from the top of that truck to the concrete floor, and nobody even blinked an eye.

The absolute best part-time job I ever got was in my last year in college, I got a job as a lab assistant at a Pharmacology Department at at a medical school/hospital. I worked totally and utterly alone at nights, and I worked under a guy who had been there forever and built a fiefdom there. All the PHD and MD professors had to go through him for ANYTHING, and he looked and sounded like a longshoreman from a big port with no scholastic degree. Smart and capable, I took orders ONLY from him (what he wanted me to do) and he had built himself an awesome shop with lathes, table saws, drill presses, milling machines, and tools of every kind...probably forty feet by forty feet! I was mechanically inclined, and he had me doing a lot of fabrication using plexiglass, and by God, that was enormously fun! I had to lay them out, cut them, drill them, mill them, glue them together...it was a blast.

I was lucky. Most students I knew had to work at a Hallmark store or other mall thing. Talk about luck..:)

All said, I think I think there are jobs at Home Depot that would be suitable for an outgoing personality, and...I bet you could learn a lot of stuff you didn’t know in the process.

Absolutely.

I live in a high tax, VBS (Very Blue State) that shares a border, with a no state tax state, and I am certain there are journeys back and forth over that dotted border line for Home Depot stuff...

As of yesterday, Home Depot near me still had the sign up but none of the staff I interacted with said anything about it to me.

Sadly, I was about the only freedom loving American in any of the stores I’ve been to in the past few days since the illegal mandate was lifted.

The sheep are afraid to take a breath without government permission.

Menards is a nice store, but they are not customer friendly. That turns me off on them.

Went to Home Depot last week and the employees were already dropping the masks below their noses or pulling them down around their necks.

These ridiculous masks are another reason people don’t want a job.

I know folks who work part time for a little extra income who refuse to go back if they’re muzzled.

On a related note. Pay special attention to the info about OHSA...

The CDC is no longer the only problem.

Believe me, there are people out there who have taken the shots, still have masks tight to their face, wear gloves and have a hissy fit if you get anywhere near them.

I wonder if we all learned a lesson. Do not allow government to dictate our freedoms. Breathing is a big one. Government should never be involved in health care. Politics are a destroyer.

We need to quit fighting each other, get wise and go after the elites that are dividing us and making it easier to enslave us.
