Top Republicans in the Arizona Senate are meeting at 1 p.m. Tuesday to discuss the ongoing audit of Maricopa County's election results.
Senate leaders had invited county officials to attend, but county leaders have made clear they do not plan to participate, having issued a blistering rebuke to accusations by GOP senators that they deleted and mishandled election materials.
Senate President Karen Fann, R-Prescott, invited county officials to the meeting with Senate Judiciary Committee Chairman Warren Petersen, R-Gilbert, and Senate liaison Ken Bennett to discuss the claims first outlined in a public letter last week.
However, the Senate backed off threats to issue subpoenas that would require county officials to appear. The county responded to the allegations Monday in writing.
Fann said Monday afternoon that she had just received the county's letter and that Senate leadership will review it and respond at the Tuesday meeting, which will be live streamed.
The Senate has fought the county for months to obtain all the ballots cast by Maricopa County voters in the last general election. But the Senate’s letter not only reignited tensions between the two entities but also underscored mounting concerns about whether the firms the Senate has hired for the unprecedented process are even capable of the job.
“I just want to make it clear, I will not be responding to any more requests from this sham process,” Chairman Jack Sellers said at a meeting of the board on Monday. “Finish what you’re calling an audit and be ready to defend your report in a court of law. We all look forward to it.”
The hand recount of ballots began April 23 at Veterans Memorial Coliseum, but had only counted an estimated 500,000 as of May 14, which is when contractors originally expected to finish up. The audit now is expected to continue into the summer.
That was in New Hampshire, not Maricopa County AZ.
You’re correct.
I’m feeling older than I should, apparently ....
link doesn’t work and info about “AG ‘visited’”is i think incorrect.
Who does this person work for, that he is so arrogantly refusing?
Very telling. This means to me they hope to mire things down in endless legal battles to water things down and remove it from the public eye until that short-memoried public forgets what it was all about.
If I were to venture a guess, I would classify this guy as guilty scum. And not guilty of incompetence, which he clearly sounds like he is.
Guilty of overt and active election fraud.
Hahaha, don’t feel like the Lone Ranger about that.
No it’s just that it’s overwhelming how the Virus carrying rats 🐀, the deep state, the Global elites, China and soros, along with Masters of the universe, the anti-Trump Backstabbing Benedict Arnold $$$$$ RINOS were massively secretly Sabotaging the BIG STEAL...all the while while we were diverted else where with their constant ongoing investigations and bombshells against Trump, these bastards were planning and implementing their cheating plans. This was so well planned that I believe it completely blindsided our side. Why in the hell did they kick them out of a voting place and the republican poll watchers easily surrender and obey their orders? Why don’t we ever fight back? I would’ve just gotten some handcuffs and handcuff myself to the inside door.Stupid Republicans that we are we always obey the evil demonic rats! We never learn.
He's part of the Maricopa County Board of Supervisors so he doesn't work for the state senate.

That's not the impression I got. I took it to mean he wants them to finish their work and take their case to court. I would assume that's the ultimate goal of the effort that's ongoing now.
Guilty of overt and active election fraud.
Then to use his own words, "..be ready to defend your report in a court of law." If he's engaged in election fraud then that's the place to prove it.
The guiltier they are, the greater the McBeth hyper protesti g of thier innocence.
Not the AG. That is a man. Are you talking about the Secretary of State, Katie Hobbs?
The posturing fool works for himself.
He works for the citizens of Maricopa County...elected to run a lawful election process.
He is either covering his lazy incompetent butt, or he is up to his neck in illegality.
Probably both. And he should be fired for both, and prosecuted for at least one.
But it is clear you and I interpret his intransigence quite differently.
I have smelled enough of his kind to recall the smell when he opens his mouth.
He was elected by the citizens of the county, apparently.
I wonder how the people in that county who voted for Trump feel about his flat refusal to cooperate since his (and his fellow officials) disenfranchised them?
Some people think it is fine to force the investigative process go though an adversarial legal process to drag out one small bit of information after another while several more election cycles are subverted through incompetence, malice, or both.
Which is exactly the tactic I am sure they are following.
Which he claims he did.
He is either covering his lazy incompetent butt, or he is up to his neck in illegality.
Which can only be proven if Cyber Ninjas and their compatriots take their findings to court. Is that the plan?
“The louder he talked of his honor, the faster we counted our spoons.”
Good grief. You are correct.

In theory. In reality, courts "prove" all sorts of things that are not true. I just read of two men convicted of rape and murder who had served 30 something years in jail, and DNA evidence just proved they didn't do it.
Courts are crap nowadays. Very low quality control of their output work product.

Once the unvarnished facts of the audit come out, this clown will be looking pretty foolish.
