It doesn’t sound very sacred, traditional, personal or even nice, but this will be one of the choices available.
As long as this residue is not toxic to the water and all living things that use this water, we are running out of areas to reserve for cemeteries.
Burial grounds have been the tradition since the dawn of recorded time, back when there were far fewer people walking the earth compared to today. I would be fine to have this as a plan for my own remains. My loved ones can always plant a tree or select some basic natural site as for my Memorial. I will be pretty much done with the body.
Have you actually ever driven across the United States? Very little of our country is populated to any great extent.
Actually, no; with all the landfill space we're saving by banning plastic bags and straws, we'll have plenty of room for cemeteries.

__________
Do you not believe in the Resurrection of the Body?
“we are running out of areas to reserve for cemeteries.”
Hogwash. We could bury the entire population of the US in 3’x8’ plots in the smallest state, Rhode Island, and still have 80% of the land in Rhode Island left over. You could bury the entire 7 billion population of the world in 4th smallest state, New Jersey, and still have room for another 3 billion. Bury people upright or stacked and it would take even less space. Space for burials is not an issue except in the world’s most heavily populated areas.
You can also be cremated and your ashes compressed into diamonds. Wind up as a pair of cuff links.
