AS PART OF the Biden administration’s crackdown on domestic extremism, the Pentagon plans to launch a pilot program for screening social media content for extremist material, according to internal Defense Department documents reviewed by The Intercept, as well as a source with direct knowledge of the program.
An extremism steering committee led by Bishop Garrison, a senior adviser to the secretary of defense, is currently designing the social media screening pilot program, which will “continuously” monitor military personnel for “concerning behaviors,” according to a Pentagon briefing in late March. Although in the past the military has balked at surveilling service members for extremist political views due to First Amendment protections, the pilot program will rely on a private surveillance firm in order to circumvent First Amendment restrictions on government monitoring, according to a senior Pentagon official. Though the firm has not yet been selected, the current front runner is Babel Street, a company that sells powerful surveillance tools including social media monitoring software.

I think our military needs to pay attention to defending our country and not NOT prioritize attacking and purging military citizens from military ranks.
Note to the military surveillance team: I have never been in the military, but I strongly support what the military was before you guys took over.

Here’s an idea. Stay off public media unless you’re willing to fight to the death. Even if the government is prevented from observing you in that way you still have to deal with the Antifa doxxers.
Who defines “extremist content”? Suspect with the commissars who run the Pentagon a soldier will be disciplined for posting “Happy Father’s Day”. Such a post demonstrates insensitivity to those without discernable fathers and suggests an affinity for patriarchy and white supremacy.

Law enforcement has been using third parties to get around laws and court orders for years. If a police department is barred from maintaining files on certain individuals, they just rely on some outside entity, like the ADL, to maintain files for them.

Several years ago my teacher buddy said the school board sent around an email stating that if they posted anything that went viral or became controversial they could be fired. if I was still in the job market i would erase my online presence. The control our online presence gives the woke crowd is disproportionate and inappropriate, but real nonetheless. I don’t like the vicious and graceless society we have become.
A government agency hiring a private company to monitor the military would NOT avoid 1st Amendment concerns. In the slightest. It is STILL government monitoring.
This won’t hold up. Not in court and not politically.

If it is an illegal or prohibited activity for a government agency to perform, it should also be illegal and prohibited for a commercial entity to perform. If we actually had representation who cared about the people this would be the case. The MSM shut down their comment sections years ago because it exposed the fact that many people are not onboard with the agenda. This is no different, I know people in the DoD and they will not post their opinions for fear of losing their job. We need to rise up against this but we won’t.
