EXCLUSIVE DETAILS: The Virginia police lieutenant who was fired from the department in April after anonymously donating to a fundraiser to benefit Kyle Rittenhouse said his ousting came in only a matter of days, despite that the process typically takes months.
Norfolk Police Lt. William Kelly was only roughly 10 months from being a 20-year veteran of the department, at which point he would have been eligible to have received his retirement savings without a penalty. He was fired from Norfolk Police Department in April, when he was suddenly left desperate to find affordable health insurance for himself, his wife, who is sick with cancer, and their three kids.
"I thought I was a free man in America expressing his personal opinion to somebody, giving some words of encouragement and making a simple donation," Kelly said during a Friday morning interview with Fox News.

OK, an anonymous donation to a legitimate fund, should not result in firing. It’s only a matter time now before he sues them and not only gets his retirement but hopefully a lot, a lot more.

Every high school freshman in America knows how to set up a gmail account. How can this guy not know?
An ‘anonymous’ donation from his official email? It’s stupid (not even vaguely anonymous then) *and* it will get you fired in most companies. It will absolutely get you fired in many government agencies. No matter who you made the donation to, it is rare that any place with an email use policy will let you do that without consequences.

Put it to you this way - if I was his local email administrator and I had a bog-standard modern email use policy that had been circulated and signed off on by all employees and officers and I found out about this? I would recommend him for discipline and suggest termination because he’s too stupid to work there. And I’m a Rittenhouse supporter.
Among other reasons why this conduct is banned is to prevent employees from donating to causes like AntiFa, Black Lives Matter, the Communist Party from a work account which would indicate the organization endorses it. It doesn’t matter who he tried to donate to or what place he used that email to set up an account at - that’s a BIG no-no.
Worse than that - even elementary school students know how to set up a Gmail account, and if you own a smartphone (as most people do) you were given the chance to set up a free Gmail or iCloud mail address at the time you bought it and set it up!
Give the officer a break. He should not have used his work computer etc to make the donation but to fire him shortly before he had his 20 years is purely vindictiveness and possibly illegal.
I wonder who the chief of police of Norfolk is? I’ve heard about law enforcement and the crime rate in Norfolk, and how white cops have left for greener pastures. Don’t know if it applies here, but southern Virginia major police departments are for crap, their leadership is incompetent, and crime is rising in Virginia Beach, Hamptons, Va, and Norfolk as well as Richmond, the state’s capital (been there, see the Marxist, black-criminals paradise it became.)
Richmond was so bad and many of the police lazy or corrupt, that I had to pull my daughter out of school there for her safety.
I checked GiveSendGo and I could not find Kelly. Do you know if a goal was established and if it was reached?
