Quite a big uptick in new first shots on this report -second day in a row, and to a high degree. Yesterday’s uptick may have in fact been a significant inflection point to note. We went from the “new norm” of the post J&J pause (about 666 K first shots per day) up to 965 K yesterday, and 1.3 on today’s report - almost double the “new norm”, for context.
It still may be just a blip, but it looks bigger than that. We have a higher percentage of teens and 20 somethings getting shots, so it may be partially teens flooding in - but all the older demographics jumped more strongly as well.
Maybe the mask policy change, maybe the bad press of the J&J pause has worn off, or maybe some new distribution or incentive programs have kicked in. This was the biggest day for first shots in a few weeks.
Like any shifts, I will await the emergence of an actual trend. But the upticks are encouraging. Israel had 38 new cases and 1 death yesterday. 20 new cases and 1 death the day before. In the whole country. They were having 100,000 new cases a day and 100 deaths.
The sooner we can get where they are, the better. No more sick people, no more COVID-19 deaths, no more masks, no more social distancing. The Trump vaccines are the answer to the Chinese virus problem. Thank you President Trump!

Qtards weep. I was a little (but very pleasantly) surprised at the jump in the >18 counts and, even more so, the >65 counts. Going out to the stores I was seeing lots of parents with their teenyboppers waiting to get a COVID-19 shot. I wasn’t expecting that. When Maryland hits 70% of the >18 population having at least one dose, Maryland’s Governor will eliminate ALL COVID-19 mask and other restrictions. We’re at a little over 66% now so should reach 70% in a week or so.
