On Friday’s broadcast of the Fox News Channel’s “Fox & Friends,” Texas Gov. Greg Abbott (R) stated that there has been a nearly “800% increase April over April” in the amount of fentanyl coming across the border apprehended by the Texas Department of Public Safety. And that there has been enough fentanyl obtained to kill everyone in New York.
Abbott said, “I’ve got to tell you, Steve, there’s something else, a new dynamic about what’s going on at the border that Americans need to know about, and that is the increased apprehension of fentanyl coming across the border. Yes, there may be people coming across the border. But there [are] dangerous drugs coming across the border. For your audience who may not know, two milligrams of fentanyl is a fatal dose. And so, know this, we had…[an] almost 800% increase April over April of the amount of fentanyl that has been apprehended by the Texas Department of Public Safety. We have obtained enough fentanyl coming across the border to kill every single person in the state of New York.”

Had a good friends son, 22, OD on fentanyl two weeks ago. The kid was even inside a fancy treatment center in Palm Springs, Ca. Guess he was hell bent on leaving this world. Theres a $10M negligence lawsuit in the works brought by his mother against the treatment center...
Its enough for a fatal dose to all Americans,all 50(57) states, DC and Puerto Rico.

I wonder about the break down on those numbers ... let’s say April to Jan, and then Feb to April.
I’ll repeat my mantra. This is all being done for the drug cartels.

Tragic. A few years back, a family member was on a patient-controlled fentanyl drip following surgery. Feeling pain? Push a button for a hit. They said, “Please disconnect me from this thing because if you don’t, I’ll become an addict.” The feeling they described was one of total serenity. On the drug, pain was gone and everything was right in the world. Total tranquility.
I have no sympathy for the libertarian position on narcotic abuse. The fact is that there are some drugs that are simply too dangerous to allow people to freely consume. There are too many negative externalities. The libertarian counter-argument is always, “Well, what about alcohol? People abuse that too. You gonna ban that again? It has even more negative externalities on a macro-basis.” I think the alcohol argument is weak because alcoholic beverages are (1) ingrained in the culture; (2) part of meals for many people; and (3) able to be enjoyed in moderation by a majority of users. Show me someone who can enjoy fentanyl in moderation.
And the 800% increase is just what they CAUGHT. There must be a similar, or perhaps even higher, increase in what actually gets inside the US borders. Enforcement of the drug traffic is necessarily down, simply because the border agents are being overwhelmed by sheer numbers of illegal and “refugee” immigrants, taken away from their duties on the entry points to essentially be babysitters and escorts.
Green lights set up everywhere.
