If true, and if it is representative of the country, the infection rate was much higher than reported. I presume a lot of asymptomatic or minimally symptomatic cases.

Is there such a thing? Or are you joshing? I suppose there could be some disease that has a 20% prevalency rate that looks like covid antibodies. I mean, they wouldn’t have had reason to test for it in the past.

I guess it’s possible. Hadn’t heard that one before but now that you mention it... But I was referring to the antibodies, which may or may not be differentiated from other spike protein antibodies. I just don’t know enough about the tests or the antibodies to answer.
There is certainly some suspicion and a few high profile cases of pericarditis which is obviously similar.

I have no problem with folks who don’t get a vaccine just as much as I don’t care if they don’t get a flu shot. I do get annoyed by the cranks on this forum who want to ban vaccines or denounce them as “dangerous” by quoting quack medicine show “alternative medicine” charlatans, the latter of which in a sane world would be thrown off the roofs of buildings.

One young doctor who died after vaxxx had 2 different kinds of antibodies.
One to covid which he apparently had or been exposed to earlier,perhaps asymptomatically, and another to whatever resulted from being vaxxxed

It would be impossible to distinguish the S protein antibodies considering they’re nucleotide-for-nucleotide identical copies from the viral RNA. It would be like trying to distinguish lab-made hydrogen from “natural” hydrogen: at that level, there’s nothing to distinguish since you’re just talking about chemistry.
The one place you can distinguish is looking specifically for N protein (nucleocapsid) antibodies. Those antibodies will exist in those who’ve had a COVID-19 infection, but not in those who’ve only had a vaccine. They aren’t targeted by the vaccines because earlier research from SARS-CoV-1 (SARS2003) showed that nucleocapsid antibodies are sometimes sub-optimal, leading to a risk of antibody-dependent enhancement (ADE). For all the wild claims of the vaccines causing ADE, they’re specifically targeting proteins where that doesn’t happen, which means if you’re worried about ADE, you’re better off getting vaccinated versus getting infected with SARS-CoV-2.

Absolutely! If the April 2020 variant were the only one out there, I would say we've already reached the HIT and should see nothing but declines even if vaccinations ceased today. However, I'm accounting for the UK, South Africa, Brazil, and India variants - all of which are already here - since natural selection will favor the emergence of the most infectious one(s) once the number of vulnerable hosts is reduced past a certain point. It's critical we continue to reduce the number of vulnerable hosts through inoculation to reduce the risk of new variants emerging which are more difficult to deal with using the currently available tools (e.g. a new antibody-resistant variant).
