‘She’s a hero’: Liz Cheney down but not out in Wyoming after crossing Trump

When lifelong Wyoming Republican Tage Benson and Democrat Chamois Andersen met for the first time at the Owl in the Attic antiques store in Laramie this past weekend, they quickly put their political differences aside.

Their home state's embattled Republican congresswoman, Liz Cheney, needed to be supported, they agreed, for standing up to former President Donald Trump and contesting his false stolen-election claims.

“This is where Democrats and Republicans can come together,” said Anderson, 51, a wildlife advocate who often disagrees with Cheney on policy.

"She is a hero," said Benson, 67, who was working the store's register. He told Andersen his Democratic friends were talking about registering as Republicans to vote for Cheney in the party's primary election next year. "I'm going to talk everyone into that," he said.

The only two liberal counties in Wyoming are Teton (Jackson Hole) and Albany (Laramie where the University of Wyoming is).

Not even remotely representative of the overall state.

Very telling...

In her floor speak was this quote...

I knew it was right when she uttered these words during her floor speech.

“Our duty is clear. Every one of us who has sworn the oath must act to prevent the unraveling of “our democracy.”

Only Communists use this subliminal false deceptive propaganda label instead of “our Republic”.

No loyal Republican would EVER utter those words as the subliminal brainwashing it truly is designed to be.

“Sworn our Oath” and “Our Democracy” should NEVER be used in the same sentence ever.

Liz didn’t cross Trump, she crossed America.

Trump just pointed it out.

They’re interviewing people in LARAMIE.

Laramie, the ‘Boulder of Wyoming’, the home of UW — large grain of salt to be taken, as needed.

To many of us in NE WY, Larime and Cheyenne are liberal bastions (as is Jackson Hole) and are just part of northern Colorado (Jackson Hole is eastern Calif). Republicans here play games just like they do in DC so terminating Cheney’s future in the House isn’t a sure thing.

Reuters as a source....

Really, tells me a lot about the person posting this without a sarcasm tag

So I ask only one thing, where do you stand on this since you posted it?

He told Andersen his Democratic friends were talking about registering as Republicans to vote for Cheney in the party's primary election next year. "I'm going to talk everyone into that," he said.

How creepy... they'll vote for Liz in the primary but NOT into office... easy win for democrats. The answer is for Liz to become a democrat...maybe then she'll trash Biden...

Trump and DeSantis need to come up with a plan if Trump chooses not to run in 2024. Al DeSantis has to do is constantly bad mouth Trump (winking the whole time) and the media will insist that he is a hero who needs to be President right away.

Liz Cheney is risible but neither stupid nor suicidal.

I cannot for the life of me divine what she is thinking. She is pushing just two closely related issues: i) there is proof that the 2020 election was impeccable and ii) no to Donald Trump being the 2024 GOP nominee.

She can’t get her way on the second issue until well into 2024 and we don’t even know that Trump will even seek the nomination. (I believe it’s modestly less than likely.) So for the next three years she is reduced, I think, to joining the Pelosi-Schumer-ChrisCuomo-etal chorus saying that it is immoral even to scrutinize 2020 voting integrity.

In what world is this a wise move? What is she thinking?

LOL. More astroturf from Fake News. What are the chances they would randomly interview a Democrat “defender of wildlife” activist?

Thanks for the photo. It looks like Tage Benson’s business is really booming.

I noticed the dollar bill he posted on the wall.
