Drought and dry wildfire conditions. A pandemic. A recall election with a panoply of ambitious would-be adversaries.

Gov. Gavin Newsom has a lot of problems.

Money isn’t one of them.

This week he’s expected to release a revised state budget proposal that’s so flush with revenue he’ll be obliged by law to send some of it back to taxpayers in the form of refunds.

California state politicians are the luckiest politicians in the world.

So much money the law forces them to give back some of it, even after they've come up with every BS loser idea they can think of.

What ever happened to the billion dollars he gave the Chinese last year for masks?

Sounds like a financial shell game to me - Northern Mehico shut down their economy for a year [except for certain hair salons and posh restaurants] and now the state is DRIPPING with money?

Billions in free stimulus/Covid/infrastructure Federal payola. What a great time to be a Democrat/Communist governor
and recipient of manufactured currency to bail out one's failed, socialist constructs.

Wow. Just watch socialism take off after this infusion of other people's money.

The budget even includes about 20,000 new state employees and they still could not spend it all.

“payola”

And they’re going to distribute it to everyone.

Illegals included.

This is true “helicopter money”.

I could puke.

I’m gonna have to agree.

CalPers is apparently grossly underfunded. Toss in all the money they toss to all the illegals, healthcare, insane salaries.

And because of that law that caps the property taxes, where’s the money coming from?

Folks are pouring out of that state like it’s on fire and who is replacing them?

This sounds just like the Clinton surpluses of yesteryear, solely designed to help try and help Newsome.

Kalifornia has a budget surplus only because Dimentia Joe Biden gave them $26 Billion in the last COVID Stimulus Bill.

The state treasurer plays ball. It’s all a shell game.the state is relying on the feds and underfunding their pensions.

They have a pension fund of considerable size. And their infrastructure is disintegrating.

Now we hear that the mountains didn’t get enough snow, so they’ll be slim on water.

“state is relying on the feds and underfunding their pensions”

I’m pretty sure every state is underfunding their pensions.

And CA had a $14.5bil surplus in March before the fed money arrived.

Now it’s just filthy.

And maddening.

“Kalifornia has a budget surplus only because Dimentia Joe Biden gave them $26 Billion in the last COVID Stimulus Bill.”

Nope.

CA has run a surplus of revenue every month this fiscal year.

This state was in filthy surplus before the fed money was even committed.

And would finish the year in surplus without a single fed dollar.

They haven’t gotten the infrastructure money yet. My issue is why not put the money in the pension fund. Maybe that will fix that problem.

If you look in the dictionary under ‘horsepuckey’ there is a picture of Newsom touting surpluses. For many, many moons, Kalifornia borrowed to pay unemployment. They just do not ‘count’ it as part of the regular budget. A famous (infamous) song comes to mind ‘Very Superstitious.’

EVERY sentient American should be offended!

And should raise HELL with their Representatives and Senators!

Urge them to CLAWBACK the 26 Billion Bux!
