Biographers usually have severely distorted impressions of their subjects. Read them with caution. Reagan would have let Congressional republicans deal with Cheney. As president he would have remained publicly aloof from the fray.

The only difference between Trump and Reagan is that Reagan ousted the loser Republicans of his day before he won the Presidency so he didn't have to deal with their sniping.
