Conquerors or occupiers from Canada and the E.U.? (With what mighty forces or will?) I don't see that. But crawling sprawl from the Mexican border? Fer sher. Communist China occupying the West? More likely the areas of the East surrounding the supine universities and corporate campuses.

But I understand that the map is not really a map, but a symbolic diagram of disruption and creeping domination in the voids.
