I don’t know about the “selling” part but the people are certainly “buying”. 1.8 million more Americans became fully vaccinated in this latest 24 hour reporting period. And that despite the shrill, hysterical anti-vaccine jihad.
Looks like over 65 will get to 90%ish by fall and over 18 to at least 65%-70%. Maybe more as people see through all the fear-mongering BS. Add in those who don’t want the shot because they achieved immunity the old fashioned way, and we should be near 80%. With deaths and hospitalizations staying low, and the most vulnerable already immune, no one will be in a rush. Many won’t bother unless it’s offered at their regular physical or other visit.

I like to think even sooner. Even our now slower pace adds about 2% more of the adults, and about another one percent of those 65+, each week. We could hit those numbers in a 1-2 month timeframe, if we can maintain this (less than peak) pace.
Wow, that is an intriguing prospect. Let’s hope those mucosal antibodies persist.
I have posited several times that I suspect that the recent wave of illegal immigrants (with high rates of active COVID infection) have been a factor in this last wave of cases we had in Mar-Apr, and several of the hotspots (like Michigan).
Our impending growth in herd immunity however, I believe will overwhelm this additional vector, and suppress any future big waves here.
We will still have cases though, as long as this Administration keeps importing them from South of the Border.
