Pelosi says 'disappointing' jobs report calls for more government spending

House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, D-Calif., said she was disappointed by the April jobs report and called for the federal government to respond by passing President Biden's spending plans.

The April jobs report released Friday showed the US economy heavily missed Wall Street’s mark, adding a measly 266,000 new jobs as the country continues to recover from the COVID-19 pandemic.

The unemployment rate also unexpectedly rose to 6.1%. While it's still well below the April 2020 peak of 14.7%, it's about twice the precrisis level, the Labor Department said in its monthly payroll report, released Friday morning. Economists surveyed by Refinitiv expected the report to show that unemployment fell to 5.8% and the economy added 978,000 jobs.

Pelosi called the April numbers "disappointing" but presented a solution to the lack of jobs created in America over the past month: spending more by passing Biden’s two multitrillion dollar spending packages.

"The disappointing April jobs report highlights the urgent need to pass President Biden’s American Jobs and Families Plans," the speaker said in a Friday statement.

Start cutting the bloated unemployment checks.
There are plenty of jobs above minimum wage.
Pelousy is spending her way into massive debt and inflation.

That is always the answer.

And the Republicans have let them get away with it, or worse.

Why am I not surprised. If someone said rabbits were having to many blue eyed offspring she would call for a government program.

So far, it seems the more the Democrats spend, the worse the jobs reports.

Maybe paying people more not to work than to work is not helping getting people back to work

1) All the salaries of congress and the entire federal government needs to be cut by 75%.
2) 100% of all pension payments terminated, pensions eliminated and the money returned to the states/people.
3) 90% of all Federal employees need to be permanently furloughed... FIRED!
4) The income tax and the IRS abolished allowing 100% of the fruits of your labor to be kept and spent the way you see fit. Government has NO RIGHT to own any of your labor through direct taxation.
5) All revenue to run government will be generated by excise taxes, and stamp taxes.

this is NOT NEARLY as BAD as it’s going to get. Any of you notice how much the price of gas has gone up? When the price of gas goes up, so does the price of EVERYTHING else! I’m NOT an “economist”, I’ve read some here and there about economics and it just seems pretty simple to me.
